Job Title: Associate Manager, Operations Management

Job Location: Philadelphia, PA

Job Summary This position is the architect that performs the strategic planning process alongside Program Management and other functional organizations. It is critical and essential that this person possess strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills. This position must perform manpower / rough cut capacity planning to ensure the MBP can be accomplished. Must have a strong leader that can use negotiation and influencing skills to drive the team to be adaptive and flexible to execute to the MBP or changing customer requirements. Must communicate well with all departments such as procurement (outsourcing), Quality, SE, DE, P&IC weld shop, assembly, and test. They must understand the throughput requirements for each work cell and keep production flowing so there is minimal downtime. Must help develop the Master Build Plan (MPB), which sets the course or schedule for making sure they meet contractual commitments and all fiduciary commitments including POC and milestone payments. Must make sure the entire infrastructure must be prepared to execute to this plan, which includes developing operating budgets, capital expense requirements and maintaining plant tools / equipment. Plan and direct assembly, production control, inspection and test operations to assure the efficient manufacture of high-quality products within budget. Accountable within area of responsibility for safety (OSHA), and other workplace programs. Ensures we meet quality control standards while maintaining schedule and cost requirements to meet customer contract requirements.

Essential Job Functions & Duties

  • Direct work of employees to meet quality and on-time delivery requirements; address production challenges and communicate to appropriate leadership in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement strategies to meet cost, quality, delivery, customer satisfaction, EHS, and continuous improvement commitments
  • Develop, implement and sustain success metrics, incorporating best practices, and effectively communicating improvements
  • Monitor team productivity and provide performance evaluations, constructive feedback, mentorship, and discipline as needed
  • Drive continuous improvement and employee engagement through:
    • Leader of standard work
    • Factory Gemba walk process
    • Quality improvements and zero defect strategies
    • Comprehensive, proactive safety initiatives
    • Lean deployment
    • Mistake Proofing / Poke Yoke
    • 5S+1
    • Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
    • Value Stream Mapping (VSM)
  • Collaborate with Program Management, Supply Chain, and other functional organizations across the Philadelphia Site to manage product flow a

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years prior relevant experience or 4 years experience with a Graduate Degree.
  • An effective communicator at all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to identify performance issues and implement the necessary changes in a timely and effective manner
  • Good technical skills to recognize and solve assembly and related production problems to maintain workflow

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

  • 6 years' experience in manufacturing environment
  • 6 years' experience in an Operations function leadership role with in-depth knowledge and understanding of manufacturing methods, lean methodology, production planning, quality management systems
  • Experience in union environments
