The Archival Digitization Services team oversees several production and hands-on tasks related to processing historical collections through our Imaging pipeline. This team handles digitization and imports all images into ancestry systems. An Archival Digitization Service Specialist is trained in archival handling and cataloging physical forms of media. This team coordinates content and equipment logistics between Lehi, remote sites, archives, and our warehouse.

As an Archival Digitization Service Specialist, you will work with other team members to complete tasks to ensure projects are hitting deadlines and complying to Ancestry's quality standards. The team is vital in receiving and processing content to provide value to our customers and archive partners. This is a full-time opportunity with working hours Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, in our Lehi, Utah office.

What You Will Do:

  • You will receive, inventory, and track physical content and equipment
  • You will prepare physical and digital content for imaging processes
  • You will digitize historical records on various machines and software
  • You will ship physical and digital content to external partners
  • You will perform maintenance on archived digital content as needed by our monthly schedule
  • You will prepare digital file deliveries for external partners of Ancestry
  • You will manage locations and barcodes for our in-house content and hard drives
  • Other responsibilities as the Archival Digitization Services Supervisor sees fit

Who You Are:

  • You show great care for detail
  • You have excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills
  • You can manage projects and determine project urgency in a practical way.
  • You have a technical capability and proficiency - Excel (can perform complex functions) 
  • You can perform physical labor, including lifting to 50 lbs.
  • You have familiarity with SQL
  • You have experience in archive environments or handling archival documents
