Application Support Specialist

Responsibilities

  • Provide training, support, and documentation for asset authoring, test building, and item banking tools, and platforms
  • Support the management of the training documentation repository, updating documentation as new functionality for tools and platforms are released
  • Work with cross-functional teams to provide troubleshooting and solutions
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify and implement tools and processes to support continuous improvement
  • Work with asset development teams to identify opportunities to create efficient solutions for data-related tasks
  • Support the standardization, monitoring, and review of item bank metadata
  • Support teams in conducting item bank inventories and other item bank management tasks


As required by theColorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, Pearson provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only , the range of starting pay for this role is $63,000 - $69,000. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program, and information on benefits offered is here.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, content-specific area, or equivalent degree required
  • At least five years' experience as an elementary or secondary teacher recommended
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills required
  • Some experience in large-scale educational measurement preferred
  • General knowledge of the phases of the development, processing, scoring, and reporting of large-scale assessments required
  • Ability to identify problems and provide solutions to a variety of audiences required
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills, and ability to coordinate multiple activities and adapt to unexpected events required
  • Broad knowledge and experience with technology applications
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel knowledge required, VBA knowledge a plus
