Job Description Summary

The Monitoring & Diagnostics Requisition & Sustaining organization is looking for a Sustaining Engineer for Central Applications Support. This position will be responsible for supporting the current M&D Central Applications as well as the migration to a new cloud-based platform. Position will include owning and maintaining application configurations and databases, Central deployments, monthly report generation, providing application troubleshooting support.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to all central application support personnel in M&D Sustaining, both direct and indirect, to resolve daily issues, track and pursue system level issues, and coordinating activities for the team.
• Own and improve central health metrics for the application performance.
• Work with development teams to test new applications and provide input on enhancements and defects.
• Lead a team of contractors to maintain and troubleshoot the application issues as needed
• Lead & schedule all Central Application deployments in production environment and track ongoing platform updates and application related maintenance tasks and issues. Communicating changes effectively to end users.
• Maintain and monitor central databases and update configuration as needed.
• Work closely with IT to maintain application CI, related servers and address vulnerabilities to be consistent with cyber security measures.
• Product Owner for Internal tools and processes necessary to perform platform maintenance, efficient controlled changes, upgrades & Fleet health monitoring.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of application support experience
• Bachelor's degree in Information Science / Information Technology, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field OR equivalent experience in a technical position

Eligibility Requirements

• Must know MS Visio, Excel, Outlook, and Word applications

Desired Characteristics

• Foundational knowledge of databases and Structured Query Language (SQL)
• Experience in application performance monitoring, analysis, and tuning
• Experience working in an independent and highly matrix environment, coordinating across multiple sites, functions, and time zones
• Experience with AWS Cloud Service and understanding of virtualization.
• Prefer Automation experience using DevOps concepts
• Experience with Tableau is a bonus
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and critical thinking Skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills; Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Capable of switching between tasks based on priority and be able to communicate priority & urgency to global team.
• Green Belt or Black Belt Certification, or Lean/Company equivalent
• Experience working in a global environment.
