Job Description


  • The Optimus Support Engineer reports to the Application Support Manager and supports the Telrock Optimus collections software application to improve & support business operations. Responsibilities include complex analysis and maintenance of the Optimus software configuration & CORE integrations, including optimizing software application performance, attending meetings related to Optimus software issues and/or performance, and working with internal & external business partners on Optimus configuration issues, Optimus workflow issues, Optimus integration issues, and/or any requested workflow or configuration changes to the Optimus Collections system.


  • Telrock Optimus maintenance & support.
  • Reporting on any Telrock Optimus Issues or bugs.
  • Configuration and/or Workflow changes to Telrock Optimus.
  • Evaluation of all problems related to the Telrock Optimus application or CORE integration.
  • performing impact analysis and recommending solutions and workarounds.
  • Providing clear documentation of identified problems, its analysis, impact analysis, and solutions.
  • Escalation of identified issues to Telrock Helpdesk via ServiceNow.
  • Be aware and comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements for US and Canada Collections systems.
  • Support coordination of bug-fix activities with 3rd party support teams across three geographies (North America, Uruguay, India). 
  • Coordination and collaboration with L2 & L3 Application Support teams.
  • Coordinate support between onshore and offshore resources and the Vendor (Telrock)
  • Provide Application updates to the Application Support Manager and/or the Director of IT Service Delivery.
  • Establish trustful relationships with internal and external stakeholders by building collaborative two-way dialogue to ensure strategic alignment and execution against goals and targets. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness of the team through new working practices or through collaboration and preferred 3rd party vendor partnerships.



  • Associate degree or bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, information technology, information systems, computer engineering, or similar education or work experience.
  • Microsoft MTA, MCP, MCSA, MCSE Certifications are a plus.


  • Minimum of 1 years related work experience within the Financial Services Industry.
  • Minimum of 3 years related work experience with Microsoft .net Applications, or experience in IT software testing and support. Experience with collection systems and collection workflows is a plus.
  • Knowledge of high-volume transaction systems and demonstrable ability to simply describe these in business English. 
  • Building and managing key relationships with internal and external business partners.
  • Ability to demonstrate resilience and pragmatism in the face of a challenging and continually changing environment. 
  • Functional knowledge of financial instruments such as Installment Loans, Payday Loans, Checks, and industry domains such as loans, underwriting, collections, call center, Fraud, etc.


  • The ability to manage and articulate complex issues.
  • Strong background in collections solutions and systems integrations, especially in large-scale environments. 
  • Experience leveraging geographically diverse and offshore IT support teams. 
  • Excellent Oral communication (customer interaction, requirements analysis, training) 
  • Excellent Written communication (documentation of system bugs, analysis, system design, user guides & work-arounds). 
  • Data analysis using SQL (Microsoft SSMS) is mandatory.
  • SQL Server / SFTP.
