Job Description The Application Support Analyst within a Production Management team is responsible for technical support of production applications and infrastructure. This team provides support for CDFO and Fraud Risk Applications which help in early Fraud detection, Filing Claims and Disputes for Chase customers.
The Application Support Analyst handles all support requests, incidents, issues, tickets and business continuity activities, to ensure flawless and quality delivery of services to end users. This is a critical role requiring a highly dedicated individual who can take ownership and provide procedural and technical support to various teams and internal/external stakeholders. In addition to driving resolution of day-to-day issues, major incidents, and outages to resolution, the Application Support Analyst will work hand-in-hand with application development, infrastructure and implementation teams. Responsible for implementing Best Practices, identifying opportunities for improvement and efficiency gains, and ensure risk and controls compliance for the supported platforms. The ideal candidate for this role is a dynamic individual with excellent communication, strong analytical skills, business acumen and the ability to assimilate information quickly, with focus on incident and problem management.
Responsibilities:

  • Provide front line production support, proactive monitoring, capacity planning, performance tuning, security, maintenance, incident management for critical middleware suite of applications.
  • Work closely with clients, vendors, other incident management teams and technical staff by following best SRE practices to identify and resolve Priority/High Severity major production issues, and perform RCA (Root Cause Analysis) to provide long term solutions.
  • Maintain stability of transactions, and troubleshoot middleware, server, load balancer, application, network, database issues on all the environments.
  • Debug issues in the production environment through analyzing logs, collection metrics, and leveraging app-monitoring tools, and create solutions for sustained resiliency.
  • Perform validation health checks, administrative and middleware technical support to application development teams during production deployments.
  • Partner with application development teams to understand new projects, cross-pipeline requirements, and set Production support team expectations.
  • Serve as a liaison with internal monitoring teams to make sure appropriate alerting is in place.
  • Provide administrative and middleware technical support to application development teams during production code deployments.
  • Build auto-monitoring and auto-refresh dashboards to provide real-time data metrics.
  • Develop automation micro services and workflows for maintenance activities, resiliency events.
  • Create and maintain documentation including detail analysis into the application end to end flow and infrastructure stack for various critical applications.
  • Improve the stability and performance of the application portfolio by identifying system bottlenecks and opportunities for process improvements.
  • Communicate complex functional and technology solutions across differing audiences including technical, managerial and external clients/vendors.
  • Demonstrate creativity, innovation and high performance.


Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Production Support.
  • 3+ years experience managing UNIX/Linux environment.
  • 3+ years experience with distributed applications (Oracle, SQL, SQL Server, UNIX, Linux, Java, Java servlets and JSP, Spring, Hibernate, etc.).
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in data analysis/ SQL
  • 3+ years experience in UNIX shell, Perl, Python, or similar scripting languages.
  • 3+ years experience utilizing scheduler software such Control-M or Autosys
  • 3+ years experience Apache/Tomcat/Websphere and Weblogic.
  • 1-3 years experience in cloud technologies- AWS, Kubernetes.
  • Strong analytical & trouble shooting skills required.
  • Knowledge of Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus is required.
  • Experience in Disaster Recovery planning and test execution.


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with scheduling tools like Autosys/Control-M is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud technologies AWS, Azure, Kafka, Kubernetes is a plus
  • Experience supporting mission-critical applications in financial services industry.
  • Experience with Jules, Jenkins is also a plus.
  • Experience with one of the Incident Management Tools -- BMC, Service Manager, SNOW - would be very useful.
  • Must be detail-oriented and well-organized.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to the team and the customers.
  • Must be able to work calmly and effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while balancing competing priorities
  • Must have "Can do" attitude -- Identify problems, take ownership, and provide solutions.
  • Must Possess excellent trouble-shooting skills, and drive to help internal/external customers.
  • Must demonstrate sound analytical and diagnostic skills dealing with issues that are not readily defined and/or conflict with available information, ability to reach sound decisions quickly.
  • Must demonstrate creativity, innovation and high performance.
