The Applications Specialist - Advisor provides application support for clients using software applications developed by Fiserv Risk and Performance Solutions. Providing excellent product support and training is the primary focus the Client Services department, and timely and efficient handling of our client's support needs is very important to the overall success of our company. • Responsible for establishing and maintaining a positive relationship with our existing and new client base. • Very proficient at budget planning and forecasting in a banking environment. • Profitability measurement expertise is a plus. • Excellent organizational and inter-personal skills with an excellent attitude towards work. • While possessing a high degree of technical financial knowledge and experience, this person must also be a "people person"; able to establish a good rapport with clients and team members, be proficient in client support skills, have good troubleshooting skills, and be pleasant, courteous, and professional. Business Description: FRMS (Financial and Risk Management Solutions), a division of Fiserv, is focused on helping financial institutions optimize their return on capital by making decisions about risk actionable and transparent within their organizations. Key areas include financial performance management solutions for budgeting and planning, financial accounting, and funds transfer pricing and profitability; financial risk management solutions for credit, market and liquidity risk as well as asset/liability management; financial crime risk management solutions for fraud and money laundering detection and mitigation; and financial control solutions for reconciliation, exception management and account certification. Essential Job Responsibilities: 1. Serve as a mentor / coach for new employees learning applications supported. 2. Provide primary support to clients in the resolution of application questions and issues, and validate product defects prior to submitting to the 2nd Tier Support Group. 3. Enhance client support database by improving standard operating procedures and developing knowledgebase material. 4. Take a contributing role in expanding the development of client training materials for in-house training classes, WebEx and video based options, and instruct training classes or webinars as needed. 5. Fulfill Professional Services implementation and on-site training engagements, as needed. 6. Normal hours are 9:00 AM start time to a 6:00 PM end time; however, this position requires flexibility in work hours as appropriate. 7. Actively cultivate existing client relationships. Goals are retaining clients and support payments, enhancing the use of our software products, and increasing client satisfaction with Risk and Performance Solutions. 8. Proactively acquire knowledge of new products as they are introduced and communicate that knowledge both internally and externally by participating in the testing of releases of existing and new products for general operational and application specific correctness of features, functions, and design parameters. 9. Assist Risk and Performance Solutions Sales professionals in sales presentations, and assist development staff on product specifications as necessary. 10. Perform user acceptance testing ensure that new releases or patches meet established quality standards. Required Qualifications: Education: • B.S. or B.A. Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field • Master's degree is a plus Job Related Experience: • Intermediate or higher level experience with budget, planning, and reporting software and/or business intelligence solution. • Practical experience with interest rate risk and economic value calculations is a strong plus. • Practical experience troubleshooting or researching issues for a software solution which could be application or technical in nature. • Knowledge of banking regulatory requirements as they relate to capital adequacy and interest rate risk is a plus. • Five years' experience in a financial institution with primary responsibility for using budget planning / forecasting and cost accounting software. Additional Skills/Knowledge: • Good organizational skills. • Extensive knowledge of budget planning and forecasting. • Strong client support skills. • Good troubleshooting skills. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Superior listening skills. • Ability to focus on several projects concurrently • Comprehensive level of experience with Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems, Microsoft Windows network operating systems and Virtualization tools. • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Products: Word, Excel and Project • Proficiency with Crystal Reports or other automated report writer Travel Required: • Availability to travel up to 25%
