Network Certification Services (NCS) is part of Network and Acquirer Solutions organization within Global Network and Merchant Services (GMNS)The team is primarily responsible for enabling customers on American Express internal systems, establishing connectivity between customers and the American Express network, and certification of messages to the relevant specification. Our customers are vendors, processors, network issuers and acquirers. The mission of NCS is to ensure our business partners can successfully transact with the American Express Global Network according to American Express specifications, rules, and regulations.

NCS analysts are responsible for supporting certification efforts and assisting an external customer through the testing journey. The successful candidate will have experience understanding the technical needs of internal and external customers acting as a liaison between NCS and the Global Acquisition Capabilities (GAC) team. The candidate will perform the enablement of a variety of product/file types on systems allowing for the successful transfer of files between Amex and external customers through the American Express Network. Candidate must also be able read and understand technical message specifications and effectively communicate this information to less technical resources.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Setup of merchant/processors for the purpose of successful file transfers within the various Amex network systems
  • Daily management of high volumes of projects
  • Issue resolution analysis
  • Establish solid working relationships with technology teams to resolve issues
  • Gathering information pertinent to Participant profiles from global implementation teams
  • Additional cross-functional support as business needs require


Minimum Qualifications

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Solid working knowledge and experience with STARS and Secure File Transfer (SFT)
  • Experience with Web-based applications
  • Proven ability to multitask, meet tight timelines and problem solve in a very dynamic environment is key
  • Strong analytical skills
  • PC skills- Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interpret technical data
  • Commitment and willingness to see issues through to resolution
  • Excellent attention to detail with project management and organizational skills
  • Proven flexibility and adaptability in effectively driving results in an environment of changing priorities
  • Strong will to win and able to work as part of a team.
