Ads Policy Manager, Global Business Strategy and Operations
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 6 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, corporate strategy, sales operations, or relevant experience in a technology/media company
- Experience facilitating meetings with executives and partners
Preferred qualifications:
- MBA, Master's degree, or relevant experience in a technical, quantitative, or business field
- Experience in policy or passion for doing the right thing for both users and the business
- Knowledge of ads product and/or business
- Ability to understand and articulate the big picture to highly technical executive teams
- Ability and willingness to flex between strategy and execution
- Ability to execute on multiple projects simultaneously. Problem-solving and analytical skills

The Global Business Strategy and Operations (GBS&O) team provides insightful review, perspective, and direction on the strategy and operating performance of Google's global ads businesses. The function is comprised of critical strategic and operational teams that accelerate Google's performance including go-to-market strategy and analytics, operational efficiency and productivity, Risk and Compliance, Chief of Staff team that supports Google's Chief Business Officer and Ads Policy operations.
GBS&O is part of the Global Go-to-Market organization that makes sure Google's complex business pursues the best strategy and executes flawlessly. Team members are experts in business strategy and operations, analytical and strategic, yet highly pragmatic and results-oriented.
As a Manager in Ads Policy, you will lead projects that impact Google's efforts to maintain a healthy digital ads ecosystem. You are highly experienced at solving ambiguous business problems, influencing and challenging stakeholders, bringing a balance of strategic thinking and pragmatism in getting things done. You will lead strategic projects, collaborate with frontline Sales, Policy, Product, Engineering and Support teams, own execution of mission critical initiatives for the ads business globally.
You have deep experience bringing structure to complex challenges, and moving seamlessly and efficiently from ideas to action. You are known as a team player who can work in rapidly changing environments, able to thrive in ambiguity, and demonstrate problem-solving and leadership with limited oversight.
The Go-to-Market Operations (GtM) team ensures Google's complex and ever-evolving Ads business runs smoothly. We are instrumental in setting go-to-market strategy, and ensuring flawless execution and operations against the strategy. We have teams embedded in each of the major Ads business areas as well as global teams that work across the business areas. Team members are analytical and strategic, with a pragmatic sense of how to get things done.
Responsibilities
- Assess and identify emergent business issues, by gathering and synthesizing relevant data, leading analyses, and developing final recommendations.
- Structure strategic and operational initiatives by developing work plans, aligning on key milestones and success metrics, and ensuring projects are implemented effectively and efficiently.
- Lead and influence cross-functional partners to pilot and scale solutions that impact the business.
- Communicate findings and results to executive leadership with presentations and thoughtful facilitation.
