At J&J Geel a team of 800+ employees is responsible for the manufacturing of API and NPI for the commercial and clinical innovative product portfolio of J&J Innovative Medicine. Delivering these products safely, with high quality, on time and competitive for patients worldwide.
The Operations Support Manager API is responsible for leading the operations support team within a wet plant (Plant 3 or Plant 4), with a strong focus on Quality, Compliance, Safety and Continuous Improvement.
The Operations Support Manager reports to the Senior Operations Manager of the Plant, and is responsible for a team accountable for managing the daily quality and safety incidents within the Plant, as well as continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Operations Support Specialists (Quality & Compliance, Safety and technical Plant experts), ensuring effective performance management and team development
- Act as process owner for quality & compliance incident investigations and ensure timely, high-quality execution of investigations and CAPAs
- Ensure effective safety incident management and drive proactive risk management activities
- Provide oversight of daily operational issues and ensure appropriate prioritization and escalation (e.g. TIER 2/3)
- Represent Operations during internal and external audits
- Monitor performance and drive improvements through structured trend analysis and KPIs
- Lead and support continuous improvement and change management initiatives
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, EHS, GET, MSAT, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and compliance
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Sciences, Pharmaceuticals or similar
- Proven experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (pharmaceutical or chemical)
- Strong knowledge of GMP, Quality/Compliance and Safety standards
- Experience in incident investigations, CAPA management and risk assessments
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop teams
- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and change initiatives
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:
€79,800.00 - €137,770.00Benefits:
