The Role

Lyft Urban Solutions is the operator of six bikeshare systems across the country, including Citi Bike, the New York City region’s bike share system. We’re looking for an Operations Specialist who wants to continue the micromobility revolution. 

As the Operations Specialist, you will support the Citi Bike team develop and execute operational plans with a consistent eye towards service quality, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and the overall customer experience. You’ll roll up your sleeves for some hands-on problem solving, while also tackling big picture projects to improve the Citi Bike system.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure smooth daily field operations: create/refine playbooks and SOPs, oversee aspects of operating partner relationship management, and travel across New York City to perform regular quality checks in field and depot
  • Support operating partner’s ebike battery charging operation, including managing battery inventory counts, auditing charging processes, and coordinating across teams for equipment troubleshooting
  • Own end-to-end invoicing processes and asset tracking and management tools for bike deployments and spare parts to support the success of the business 
  • Conduct deep-dive analysis to identify root causes of operational issues, using insights from field operations and data to collaborate with teams, implement solutions, and drive performance improvements
  • Assist in managing the Citi Bike service delivery operation - handling special requests for partner events, supporting system rebalancing needs, and gradually growing to understand system health metrics more broadly
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with stakeholders, operating partners, and vendors, tackling challenging conversations when necessary
  • Manage shifting priorities effectively, adapting to dynamic needs while maintaining a positive, solution-oriented attitude

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of experience overseeing operations in a complex, fast-moving, rapidly changing environment such as a distribution warehouse, 24/7 operation, or delivery operation
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with an ability to zoom out and understand the bigger context of your work
  • Proven track record of analytical problem-solving
  • Excel or Google Sheets proficiency
  • Willingness and ability to work from multiple locations across New York City, including warehouse and Citi Bike stations in the field 
  • Interest in biking, bikeshare, sustainable transportation, or cities
  • Nice to have: 
    • Mechanic skills or experience
    • Experience in a warehouse or hands-on operations environment
    • SQL skills

The expected base pay range for this position in the New York City area is $29.42 - $36.78 per hour. Pay ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
