Zayo is seeking an Operations Associate to conduct the day to day handling of equipment in and out of our Warehouse in Portland, Oregon. Our Operations Associate performs system and manual tracking transactions as part of standard Allstream & Zayo processes.


  • Maximize warehouse footprint to insure safe effective shipping and delivery of material and equipment.
  • Use Oracle to report usage and requisition replenishment equipment as required
  • Track equipment, deliveries, and ensure that equipment arrives prior to scheduled installation at customer's site
  • Stage equipment for technicians/contractors as required
  • Ensure that all equipment transactions are recorded with appropriate tools and databases both system based as well as manual tracking
  • Ensure proper equipment usage levels are monitored and maintained
  • Ensure service defectives and asset recovery equipment are returned for repair and reuse in an effective and timely manner
  • Develop and promote effective cost processes and procedures for material deliverables
  • Scheduled inventory counts of stock as required for all inventory systems
  • Report all Variances to Supply Chain Manager and develop procedures and processes to minimize variances
  • Coordinate with Operations, Sales and Customers all material related requirements with respect to equipment required and cutover dates
  • Other duties that may be assigned by local management


  • High school diploma required; computer technical education or relevant experience preferred
  • At least 3 (three) years of experience in warehouse material handling and related tasks required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in telephone communications
  • Intermediate experience/skills with Excel required, advanced preferred.
  • Proven ability to successfully work independently with minimal supervision required
  • Technical aptitude for staging of switches and routers
  • Proven customer service and conflict management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible to deal with major events, conflicting priorities, customer escalations
  • Team player able to work with internal and external groups
  • Innovative and able to work in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing conditions
  • Strong time management skills, able to prioritize and meet deadlines as required
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)
  • Able to withstand long periods of standing and daily lifting of packages up to 50 pounds
  • Current state issued Driver's license preferred

Base Pay Range: $24.04 - $30.05 USD/hour, commensurate with experience.
