Focus of the Role
The Network Technical Specialist if responsible for managing equipment such as INFINERA, CIENA, NEC, and IP routers, as well as using test tools like OTDR and Power Meters to troubleshoot and maintain optimal network performance. The role also oversees installations, hardware upgrades, and fiber optic restoration, supporting POP sites in Makati, Pasig, and beyond. Flexibility to travel and respond to emergencies 24/7 is essential, along with a technical degree and at least three years of telecom experience.

What You’ll Do
Operate and maintain subsea cable station facilities and telecom equipment (INFINERA, CIENA, NEC, PFE’s, TYCO, LUCENT, NOKIA, IP routers, switches).
Use test instruments such as OTDR, COTDR, EXFO, Power Meter, and related tools for diagnostics and troubleshooting.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal network performance and minimal downtime.
Support operations and maintenance at POP sites in Makati, Pasig, and other locations; willing to travel and work on-call 24/7 during network issues.
Oversee physical installation of equipment, cabling, testing, and hardware upgrades for network projects.
Respond to fiber optics outside plant failures and restore backhaul connectivity promptly.
Ensure compliance with technical standards and maintain good moral character.
About You
Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of telecom systems, subsea cable station operations, and fiber optics technology.
Equipment Expertise: Skilled in operating INFINERA, CIENA, NEC, PFE’s, TYCO, LUCENT, NOKIA, IP routers, switches.
Testing & Diagnostics: Proficient in OTDR, COTDR, EXFO, Power Meter, and related tools.
Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues quickly.
Project Management: Experience in installation, cabling, and hardware upgrades.
Adaptability & Availability: Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including 24/7 on-call support.
Qualifications
College or technical degree in Telecommunications or Information Technologies.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the telecommunications field.
Hands-on experience with subsea cable station operations and network maintenance.
