Cluster Manager (AU/ZA/SEA) and LBL Manager (AU) - Mining & Materials


 

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop an effective divisional sales strategy within the Australian and maintain it, to improve ABB’s market penetration and realise growth aspirations. Each day, you will define, plan, lead, and ensure the execution of sales strategy to achieve both qualitative and quantitative sales targets for products, systems, and/or services to ensure sustainable order growth, revenue, profitability, market share, sales productivity, and customer satisfaction. You will also showcase your expertise by leading, developing, and coaching the Sales organisation (other sales managers and sales specialists within scope) to achieve the sales targets, through high performance.

This role forms part of the leadership team for Process Industries in Australia.

The work model for the role is: Onsite/Hybrid
Main stakeholders are operations and service managers, legal, marketing, finance , global sales management and other ABB divisions.
You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Delivering on the budgeted orders and GM across Mining and Materials, Pulp & Paper and Metals and Power Conversion.
  • Defining key sales targets and establish appropriate metrics and measurement tools to monitor the performance.
  • Develop a sales strategy and align the sales plan and account plans.
  • Anticipating and identifying the shortfalls in performance and takes appropriate remedial actions, proactively.
  • Identifying and evaluating new opportunities with existing and potential customers, determines plans for implementation, and allocates required resources.
  • Ensures sales team is actively engaged in marketing activities and supporting with client engagement at events – e.g. trade shows, in-house events and publications of case studies
  • Participating in the negotiation of key contracts and following the risk review processes
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers in customer organisations.
  • Coach, motivate, and develop direct reports to achieve revenue and profitability targets.

Qualifications for the role

  • You are skilled on value based sales in mining solutions.
  • Ability to demonstrate your experience in working within a mining technology sales management role and delivering year of year financial budgets while creating a team that is known as the place to work.
  • Possess an enhanced knowledge of in Salesforce.com
  • You are experienced and are passionate about leading high performing teams and enjoy the hunt of solution sales
  • Degree in Engineering is desired but technical and mining knowledge is a must
  • You are at ease communicating in English
  • You hold current drivers license for Australia and works rights

The Process Industries Division serves the mining, minerals processing, metals, cement, pulp and paper, battery manufacturing, and food and beverage, as well as their associated service industries. The Division brings deep industry domain expertise coupled with the ability to integrate both automation and electrical systems, increase productivity and reduce overall capital and operating costs for customers. For mining, metals and cement customers, solutions include specialized products and services, as well as total production systems. The Division designs, plans, engineers, supplies, installs and commissions integrated electrical and motion systems, including electric equipment, drives, motors, high power rectifiers and equipment for automation and supervisory control within a variety of areas including mineral handling, mining operations, aluminum smelting, hot and cold steel applications and cement production. The offering for the pulp and paper industries includes control systems, quality control systems, drive systems, on-line sensors, actuators and field instruments. Digitalization solutions, including collaborative operations and augmented reality, help improve plant and enterprise productivity, and reduce maintenance and energy costs.
