Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines is seeking a Mobile Program Specialist to join its local council! Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines represents 41 counties within North Carolina. Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines, in partnership with Girl Scouts of the USA, has a mission to build girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. 

The Mobile Program Specialist designs and delivers high-quality program experiences for current and prospective Girl Scout members and volunteers. Grounded in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE), this role ensures consistent leadership development opportunities for girls across the council’s 41-county footprint through mobile programming, community engagement, and troop leader support. The salary range for this full-time exempt position is $36,000 - $44,000.

This is a hybrid role, NOT a fully remote position. The selected candidate must reside in North Carolina near the Raleigh Service Center or Goldsboro Service Center.

 Major Responsibilities: 

  • Deliver engaging programming via the Mobile Program Vehicle to increase participation and retention across our 41-county footprint.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate high-quality programs grounded in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE).
  • Model effective program delivery and provide guidance and support to troop leaders and volunteers.
  • Maintain the Mobile Program Vehicle, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and coordination of routine maintenance.
  • Obtain and maintain required outdoor certifications, including target sports, camping, and water activities.
  • Represent the council in community partnerships to enhance program outcomes and expand outreach.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on marketing, fund development, and membership goals to support council initiatives.
  • Develop and manage risk management plans for mobile operations to ensure compliance with GSUSA and safety standards.
  • Utilize evaluation tools and community trends to measure program impact and adjust offerings based on data.
  • Provide excellent customer service and promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and cultural awareness in all interactions.
  • Support programming at Girl Scout Centers and participate in special projects, regional events, and membership growth initiatives as assigned.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.

Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with volunteers and diverse communities. 
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to cultivate volunteer engagement. 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines. 
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently. 
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. 
  • Comfortable delivering programming in a variety of environments (indoor and outdoor, varying temperatures). 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital communication tools. 
  • Strong public speaking, facilitation, and presentation skills. 
  • Reliable transportation but will regularly drive council mobile vehicle to deliver program; must meet North Carolina requirements for licensure, registration, inspection, and insurance. 
  • Ability to travel and often includes evening and weekend travel and program delivery.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual Spanish preferred. 
  • Ability to lift or move up to 30 pounds.
