The Mid-Weight Influencer Strategist is responsible for translating brand and business objectives into effective influencer strategies that drive cultural relevance, engagement, and measurable impact.

Key responsibilities:
1. Strategic Development
- Develop influencer strategies aligned to campaign and always-on objectives
- Define the role of creators within the broader social and digital ecosystem
- Identify platform-first opportunities (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, etc.)
- Translate cultural insights into creator-led ideas and formats
- Build creator frameworks (tiers, roles, content cadence, flighting)
2. Creator & Culture Intelligence
- Leverage tools (e.g. Brandwatch, Meltwater, CreatorIQ, platform insights) to identify:
- Emerging creators
- Cultural trends
- Audience behaviours
- Map creator ecosystems by category, audience, and influence type
- Recommend right-fit creators based on strategy, not just reach
3. Campaign & Always-On Planning
- Design full-funnel influencer approaches (awareness → engagement → conversion where relevant)
- Define content territories and formats for creators
- Build campaign structures including:
- Creator mix (nano, micro, macro)
- Content outputs
- Phasing and timing
4. Measurement & Performance
- Define KPIs and success frameworks aligned to objectives:
- Awareness (reach, views, VTR)
- Engagement (ER, saves, shares)
- Consideration (clicks, traffic)
- Analyse performance and generate actionable insights
- Optimise creator selection and content based on results
5. Collaboration & Integration
- Work closely with:
- Social strategists
- Paid media teams
- Creative teams
- Account management
- Ensure influencer work is integrated into Total Social campaigns
- Support in client presentations and strategic sell-in
Key Outputs
- Influencer strategy decks (campaign + always-on)

Required Experience
- 3–5 years in influencer marketing, social strategy, or digital strategy
- Proven experience working with creators across platforms
- Strong understanding of South African creator landscape
- Experience using social listening and analytics tools
