The Microsoft 365 & Automations Engineer is responsible for managing collaboration platforms and drives efficiency through automations. The position requires strong technical expertise in Microsoft 365 services, and PowerShell automation, along with excellent problem-solving and communication skills to support organizational productivity and compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Configure MS Teams Policies and relevant admin settings for meetings, messaging and collaboration.

  • Oversee Teams service health, manage org-wide settings.

  • Manage Teams apps and integrations to support business workflows.

  • Implement SP governance policies for content management and sharing.

  • Ensure compliance and security standards for document storage and collaboration.

  • Develop and customize applications and components using SharePoint framework. (SPFx).

  • Design SharePoint online Solutions end to end, including modern site design, information architecture, Conditional access policies, and SharePoint Advanced Management.

  • Plans, develops, tests, documents and implements software according to specifications and industry best practices.

  • Converts functional specifications into technical specifications suitable for code development.

  • Follows coding and documentation standards. Participate in code review process.

  • Collaborates with End Users to Troubleshoot IT Questions and Generate Reports

  • Analyzes, reviews and alters systems to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and process optimization

  • Develop workflows and solutions to reduce manual administrative tasks.

  • Design and execute automated system tests to validate performance and reliability

  • Create workflows and automation for business processes using tools like PowerShell and Power Automate.

  • Consult with business leaders to develop and implement solutions the business needs

  • Configures, deploys and administers applications in Microsoft Office 365 Environment

  • Provides necessary knowledge transfer to support and services organizations

  • Continuously look for ways to improve effectiveness and efficiency allowing us to provide a higher quality product in less time.

  • Provides technical assistance to less experienced team members.

Required Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of M365 applications including and not limited to Teams backend administration, Teams Voice, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and related services.

  • Understanding and administration of Microsoft licensing models and subscription plans.

  • Architectural understanding of Microsoft Purview solutions (eDiscovery, Data Loss Prevention, Information Protection, Retention).

  • Experience with Power Automate, workflow automation, and API integrations.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Defender for Office 365 and related security constructs.

  • Strong PowerShell scripting skills. Automate administrative tasks for Teams and SharePoint.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to collaborate across IT, security, and compliance teams.

  • Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on process improvement and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 4-6 years of experience

  • Performs work under minimal supervision.

  • Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.

  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.

Working Conditions

  • Remote. May need to work outside regular work hours (8-5 CST) or weekends in emergency situations.

Compensation:

Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.  As required by applicable law, PCG provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave.

As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: Range: $91,200-$130,000
