Job Summary
- Seeking a skilled MySQL Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, optimize, and support MySQL database environments
- The DBA will be responsible for installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and security of MySQL databases across development, test, and production environments
- This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with application developers, system administrators, and business stakeholders to ensure database reliability, scalability, and efficiency
Primary Responsibilities
- Installing and configuring new MySQL servers (5.x and 8.x)
- Designing and developing MySQL stored procedures
- Upgrading MySQL databases, both major and minor revisions
- Administering MySQL account access, backups and table spaces
- Migrating MySQL databases
- Monitoring MySQL server performance
Required Qualifications
- Must have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with NSA Full Scope Polygraph
- BS in CS or related course of study, or equivalent years' experience
- 10+ years' experience administering to, and engineering solutions with, Oracle MySQL
- Extensive experience with database design and modeling; as well as the collection and interpretation of customer requirements relevant to database migration, troubleshooting, performance observation and tuning
- Must be an independent worker with strong communications skills
- Must be COMPTIA Security Plus certified
