About the job
The Red Hat Content Team is looking for a Technical Marketing Content Writer to join us in Raleigh, NC or remotely. In this role, you'll be part of the Content Team that works with Product and Corporate Marketing teams to help our global prospects and customers solve complicated IT and business problems. You will work directly with marketers to plan for, write, and optimize digital marketing content that helps our customers solve their most immediate problems. The team advocates for a consistent voice across all of Red Hat marketing. We are students of content marketing, digital marketing, translation and localization strategy, branding, community building, and open source technologies. As a Technical Marketing Content Writer, you will work with stakeholders, strategists, and teams to engage prospective IT customers throughout their entire Red Hat experience. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Partner with multiple marketing teams to plan for and write engaging digital content to help prospects and customers with product trials, console usage, and organic content for technology
  • Conduct content audits and create editorial plans with Product and Corporate Marketing teams to create exceptional user experiences
  • Collaborate with data analysts, SEO, product, and UX teams to identify clear goals for technical marketing content
  • Measure the effectiveness of your projects against defined goals and larger marketing team goals
  • Consult with Marketing and Content team members to monitor content performance and optimize against defined key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Connect with content contributors across Red Hat to create consistent experiences for prospects and customers
  • Be a continual student of your craft and share your insights and ideas with others across the company


What you will bring

  • 4+ years of relevant experience as a website writer, digital content strategist, technical writer, or knowledge management specialist
  • Experience with Associated Press (AP) style guide or similar corporate or technical style guides
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and time effectively
  • Ability to understand and simplify complex information
  • Interest in and familiarity with multiple data platforms, e.g., SEO software, content management systems (CMS), heat mapping technology, etc. that support web writing functions
  • High regard for an exceptional user experience that solves users problems quickly
  • Ability to work with others in a highly collaborative work environment
  • Ability to multitask with multiple deadlines, manage time effectively, establish priorities, and communicate expectations to stakeholders
  • Effective and persuasive communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, demanding environment
  • Global experience (beyond North America) and multilingual skills are a plus
  • Experience with administrating or supporting Linux systems, hyperscalers, containers, or IT automation is a plus
