Fathom is experiencing an exciting season of significant growth. As we grow and partner with enterprise, strategic-minded clients, we're in need of a Senior Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategist to join our team of digital marketing experts and SEO leaders. As a senior strategist, you will be the voice of all things SEO on client teams. From helping create strong technical foundations to building advanced content optimization plans, your role will be to identify the right strategy to match your client's exact needs. During your day-to-day, you will collaborate with other SEOs, content writers, client experience professionals, marketing intelligence team members, and design experts to bring those strategies to life.

  • Lead advanced SEO opportunity assessments, including technical, content, competitor and keyword audits
  • Create end-to-end strategies, leveraging technical recommendations, onsite optimization, new content development, and audience insights
  • Oversee the implementation of SEO tactics on client websites
  • Leverage a proven technical strategy competency (status code review, canonicalization, sitemap generation, site crawling, page speed, etc.)
  • Design, execute, test and measure content and keyword optimization strategies
  • Mentor team members, act as an internal SEO liaison, and actively participate in creating and defining new tactics and team best practices.
  • Collaborate directly with client and internal team stakeholders to drive a comprehensive strategy across paid, display, nurture, social, content and organic initiatives
  • Work with internal client teams to define KPIs, create reporting, analyze performance, and deliver insights.

desired experience and skills
  • 4 plus - years of SEO experience, with B2B and healthcare experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Computer Science, or related professional experience
  • Progressive understanding of the interrelationship between SEO and other digital channels
  • Excellent structured communication skills with the ability to frame complex digital marketing and technical concepts in a way that facilitates discussion and deeper levels of understanding for our clients
  • Experience leading client or key stakeholder internal discovery meetings, project support, or reporting reviews.
  • Self-driven and motivated, comfortable working independently with little oversight or management
  • Familiarity with HTML is required (CSS, JavaScript, and/or general web development is preferred)
  • Proficient with common CMS platforms - including, WordPress, Drupal, Sitecore, etc.
  • Proven mastery of traditional SEO toolsets (e.g. Google Search Console, BrightEdge, Screaming Frog, Deep Crawl, SEMrush and ahrefs)
  • Passion for learning and growth of self, others, organization, and clients - strong desire for pushing and challenging the status quo

preferred qualifications
  • Previous agency experience
  • Experience within healthcare, education, B2B, and/or SAAS verticals
  • Working knowledge of local SEO tactics, including Google Business Profile and other 3rd party citation sites
  • Has demonstrated competency in at least one channel outside of SEO
