The Strategic Communications & Public Relations Manager is responsible for developing and implementing Granicus’ PR and media strategy, building its reputation and ensuring effective media coverage. As a PR manager you will draft or oversee the creation of media releases and content on social media, forge relationships with journalists and key influencers and manage the company response to situations.
This role requires an in-depth working knowledge of the Public Sector verticals, vertical regulations, associated media partners as well as key industry market drivers.
Granicus is a remote first company. While we have virtual teams, you have the option for in-office work should you be located near one of our hubs.

Additional Information
(Colorado only*) Minimum salary $100,000-$110,000 + bonus + benefits

What you will do:
- Lead External Communications, including Public Relations and Exec Comms for Granicus’ Public Sector business.
- Collaborate with counterparts across Granicus’ marketing organization to support awareness of our solutions, people and services.
- Write press releases, blogs, social media copy and other materials to support communications strategies.
- Develop and nurture relationships with journalists, analysts and influencers in business, trade and vertical media.
- Work closely with Granicus’ Customer Success team to identify and promote unique stories detailing how Granicus enables mission success in government.
- Lead, manage and develop partnerships with PR, Social and Influencer Marketing agency partners.
- Plan and execute various communications projects / programs with internal and external partners.
Who you are:
- 5-7 years of experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or another related field
- Demonstrated success in executing integrated marketing/demand generation campaigns and tracking metrics/ROI
- Experience working with sales teams on lead follow up, qualification, and other key enablement activities
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Self-starter with exceptional people skills and work ethic
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and balance priorities from multiple stakeholders
- Willingness to travel in support of major industry events
