The Sr. Manager of Market Strategy & Management will join the Gopuff Market Strategy & Management team for a specific market area. You will uncover, frame, analyze and solve the business’s hardest problems in your market. You will be instrumental in building an innovative and unique operation, mixing elements from ridesharing, traditional supply chain, and local e-commerce/ delivery. In this role, you will be a thought leader and partner to your city’s Director of Market Strategy and Management.
This is a high visibility and impact role, requiring you to be flexible and adaptable as no day will be the same. Market strategy, marketplace efficiency, quality, local product assortment strategy, P&L ownership, team development and coaching, and customer experience all sit under the MSM local team's broad umbrella of responsibilities. Developing a deep understanding of your market and truly being its owner will be critical to your success. This is where creativity meets leadership and execution head on. From working on competitive intel to defining an organizational strategy to weekly reporting, to helping expand your market by launching micro-fulfillment centers in new areas, the role will challenge you and help you grow into a cross-functional executor.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with executives and senior leadership to lead planning and strategy discussions/decisions
- Define KPIs and metrics to best improve your city’s operational performance, customer experience, and business cohesivenessEnable fast decision making at every level of the business through aggregating, analyzing, and synthesizing data from multiple sources
- Work closely with our tech, product, and data partners to define clear business requirements and track program effectiveness
- Enable and lead weekly business reviews for senior operations leadership to identify and solve setbacks & roadblocks
- Build data visualization tools, reports, and dashboards to easily signal business performance and flag operational opportunities
- Perform competitive analysis and continuous assessment of competitors’ SWOT landscapes
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in Management Consulting, Investment Banking/Private Equity/Venture Capital, and/or operating experience at high growth or early stage company
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to break down complex problems in logical and innovative ways
- Experience with, or willingness to learn quickly, SQL and data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, etc)
- Strong financial analysis competency with exceptional Excel/data skills
- Ability to write and speak clearly and concisely, simplifying and communicating complex ideas for various audiences, from the executive to the operator
- Clear intellectual curiosity - the passion for asking why and digging deeper into difficult problems without external guidance
- A bias for action and a willingness to break down organizational barriers
- Balance attention to detail with swift execution - we need to do things quickly, and we need to do them well.
- Balancing those can be challenging, and this should be a strength.
- Analytical rigor - We use data to inform our decisions; you’ll quickly identify what data you need to solve a problem and how to analyze it to get to the answer. You’ll have experience dealing with complex data sets, deriving insights and checking against what you see in the real-world.
- Business judgement - In the absence of perfect data, you are able to evaluate complex problems and make shrewd decisions to drive the business forward using sound judgement grittiness. You never hesitate to roll up your sleeves and tackle something hands-on, you persevere when others fall away.

Education
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business, Operations, Finance, Economics, Management, STEM or other quantitative field
