Sr. Manager Corporate Communications
deepwatch is seeking a Sr. Manager, Corporate Communications to establish the deepwatch communications team within the marketing department. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of our public relations strategy, industry analyst relations program and corporate brand identity.
This position reports to the Chief Marketing Officer and is a 100% remote role that can be based anywhere within the continental U.S.
The ideal candidate will have a successful track record in B2B cybersecurity communications who can build out a best-in-class program for a company that's in high growth mode with an amazing opportunity ahead. At deepwatch we serve CISOs and security operations teams of Fortune 1000 companies and we have close technology partnerships with leading cybersecurity companies including Splunk, Palo Alto, Tenable, Qualys, Crowdstrike, SentinelOne, Cybereason and others.
Position Responsibilities

  • Manage deepwatch's public relations function. Develop and manage a PR plan to consistently build awareness and brand attributes over time. Lead deepwatch's small, yet growing PR team to ensure consistent messaging and coordinated plans for upcoming news announcements; develop and enforce procedures, guidelines and measurement/reporting.
  • Develop PR plans, strategies and messaging to communicate to our target audiences - including IT/tech trades and business press and influencers.
  • Develop PR pipeline of news announcements; coverage opportunities; speaking and awards opportunities to ensure a steady stream of activity.
  • Execute all parts of the press release lifecycle (including: writing/editing releases, securing internal and customer approvals; coordinating distribution plans; communicating news internally and externally; and posting news to deepwatch's corporate website and social media sites).
  • Collaborate with deepwatch's team of security researchers to drive thought leadership programs and raise awareness of key discoveries.
  • Write and edit a wide range of assignments, such as bylined articles, press releases, bios, talking points, blog posts and social media content.
  • Manage and develop spokespeople.
  • Manage external PR agency.
  • Design and execute deepwatch's industry analyst relations strategy working with key analysts at Gartner, Forrester, IDC and others
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders in product marketing, product management and R&D to design analyst-ready content and hold regular inquiries, briefings and advisories with analysts
  • Be the steward of the deepwatch brand - encompassing brand values, tone, messaging and visual identity
  • Manage internal and external design resources to deliver on the brand
  • Act as a role model of deepwatch's Core Values and coach and encourage others to model these values
  • Embody the deepwatch Leadership Attributes of ownership, delivering results, hiring & developing the best talent in the industry, having backbone and ability to disagree and then commit, and earning trust.

Requirements
Required Experience, Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to think strategically and deliver against business objectives
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • PR agency management experience
  • Comfortable interfacing with senior leadership and spokespeople to provide strong counsel, advice and direction with conviction
  • Strong work ethic, highly responsive and dedicated to program results
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent research skills and resourceful approach
  • Experience with social media channels (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices
  • BS/BA in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or Public Relations is preferred
  • 7 years minimum experience in an agency or corporate PR/communications setting with emphasis on B2B cybersecurity PR experience
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background and drug screen in accordance with applicable laws


Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience with security industry analyst relations - eg: Gartner, Forrester, IDC
  • Experience with brand management, visual identity, design
  • Experience in PR or communications at a cybersecurity company and/or MSSP
  • Experience and/or knowledge of deepwatch alliance partners' technologies (i.e. Splunk, Crowdstrike, Tenable, PAN, Sentinel One, Cybereason, etc.)
  • Threat intelligence, XDR, EDR, VM, Intrusion Detection and Incident Response knowledge or experience


Colorado Candidates:
Minimum salary of one hundred eight thousand dollars + bonus + stock options + benefits. Actual compensation may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
*Note: Disclosure as required by sb19-085 (8-5-20) of the minimum salary compensation for this role when working remotely from the state of Colorado.
