Our Opportunity:

Chewy is hiring an experienced Senior Manager, Communications & PR in Boston, MA to be a strategic communications lead for Chewy’s Regional Communications & PR initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker who is results oriented and thrives in a fast-paced environment, serving as the day-to-day lead for internal and external Regional communications & PR as well as managing community relations at each of our regional locations. 

What You'll Do:

  • Contribute to Regional Communications & PR strategy
  • Manage community relations and related programs for Regional sites, with primary focus on our fulfillment center locations
  • Work collaboratively with Regional HR, Internal Communications, Employer Branding and Engagement teams to lead and manage regional PR/media opportunities, awards and recognition, philanthropic activities, community partnerships, sponsorships and event initiatives
  • Identify and manage strategic opportunities that support the Regional team’s priorities and elevates Chewy as a local best employer and engaged community partner
  • Lead regional media relations; Act as point of contact for all regional media inquiries
  • Work collaboratively with Regional teams to develop and distribute communications materials/messaging to internal teams
  • Manage Regional crisis communications, as needed
  • Deliver timely reporting to team leads and senior leadership

What You'll Need:

  • Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university; Master’s degree is a plus
  • Degree Requirement: Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or related field of study
  • Prior years of experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of communications, PR and/or community relations experience; Agency experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of communications strategies; Ability to think strategically and build implementation plans that have a measurable impact
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with demonstrated abilities to communicate effectively (written and oral) with all types of employees, from front-line workers to corporate executives
  • Adept at working in a cross-functional organization with demonstrated ability to collaborate with teams across the organization (Regional HR, Marketing, Employer Branding, etc.)
  • Deep knowledge of multiple types of communication mediums (website, videos, social media)
  • Notable attention to detail and accuracy; high level of commitment to exceptional work quality
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast paced environment
  • Solid organizational and project management skills; Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and adjust to changes in priorities
  • Position may require some travel
