About the job
The Red Hat Corporate Communications team is looking for a Social Media Specialist to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will act as a coordinator assisting with activities, events, and programs across Red Hat's Corporate Communications and broader Marketing and People (HR) teams. We'll need you to be detail-oriented, possess solid written and verbal communications skills, and be comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously while under deadline. Clear, concise, and engaging communication skills are required to succeed in this role.
What you will do

  • Help to manage Red Hat's corporate and Life at Red Hat social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.); monitor social media conversations and activity; work with internal teams to field recruitment, customer, and support questions
  • Work closely across Red Hat's corporate social media team to amplify messages and build voices across Red Hat's social media channels and build social media marketing education and enablement materials
  • Maintain and grow social media content repositories and image libraries; closely align with Red Hat's Content, Design, Video, and Brand Experience teams to deliver engaging creatives
  • Support the overall Corporate Communications team and program, assisting with social media approach and content development
  • Provide Red Hat associates with shareable content, tips and best practices for social media across the globe
  • Partner with Red Hat's Customer Reference team to create compelling and interesting social media stories with some of our leading customers
  • Contribute to Red Hat's larger Corporate Marketing team in support of various initiatives
  • Draft social media copy and content; proofread and edit social media materials for consistent product messaging and writing style
  • Prepare measurement reports and social media dashboards for internal stakeholders
  • Be responsible for media monitoring, coverage reporting, and analysis


What you will bring

  • 2+ years of experience in a related field
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and research skills, and intellectual curiosity
  • Familiarity with social media and digital communications and the role they play in increasing brand awareness, engagement, and traffic
  • Solid organizational, presentation and interpersonal skills, including the ability to juggle multiple assignments and meet deadlines; ability to prioritize and handle high-volume detail work
  • Motivated, ability to work in a team team, enthusiastic, flexible, and ability to work on your own
  • Ability to quickly build rapport and collaborate with various teams on a daily basis
  • Solid project management, reporting, and decision-making skills
  • Willingness to contribute as part of a dynamic team
  • Proactive and highly responsive
  • Ability to pick up new tools and concepts quickly
  • Experience working with social selling or creating social media training is a plus
  • Knowledge of tools including Sprout Social, Adobe Analytics, and Salesforce considered is a plus
