The Brand Strategy Specialist (Social) is responsible for building and enhancing the Georgia Power brand nationally and within the company's hometown market of Georgia by effectively implementing organic and paid social strategies.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience leading strategy for LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube that align with key business goals and provide value to customers. They will lead a team of interns to concept, produce and launch social-first campaigns in collaboration with Georgia Power's creative, brand strategy, media relations, internal and executive communication and crisis communication teams, as well as our agency partners.

The role will be responsible for regularly tracking and reporting success metrics and providing recommendations for continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will be up to date on the digital latest trends and serve as a social media subject matter expert providing strategic guidance to internal business units and agency partners.

The role requires strong writing, copy-editing, and PowerPoint presentation skills; as well as the ability to simultaneously handle multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

This is a hybrid position reporting out of Georgia Power's Atlanta headquarters and working from our industry-leading social media center.

Some travel across Georgia is required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or other related field of study
  • 3 years social media experience in a corporate communication or agency environment
  • EXPERT-level knowledge of organic social best practices, including platform strategy, community management, measurement and optimization tactics
  • Working knowledge of emerging social media platforms, trends, tactics and technologies, and the ability to synthesize and recommend which are appropriate for Georgia Power
  • Working knowledge of digital advertising and paid social media best practices
  • Working knowledge of analytics tools such as Facebook Insights, Sprinklr and Adobe Analytics
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office: Word and PowerPoint and Outlook are required; working knowledge of Excel is a plus
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or other design tools a plus
  • Proven success in Project Management
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas simply to audiences of diverse backgrounds and levels
  • Highly motivated, self-starter who takes ownership of assignments
  • Strong listening, creative thinking, problem-solving and relationship-building skills

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategy development, positioning, and messaging for social media
  • Day-to-day execution of the company's social media playbook, ensuring alignment to the overall brand strategy and advancement of business objectives
  • Optimize company pages within each platform to increase visibility of social content
  • Track, benchmark and analyze social media ROI and provide regular reports to internal stakeholders to illustrate trends, success stories and improvement opportunities
  • Partner with our customer service team to drive meaningful community engagement
  • Manage agency relationship and execution of social media strategy, including paid social strategy, budget and media planning, forecasting, testing and ongoing data analysis
  • Support and expand company's executive and expert thought-leadership strategy
  • Stay well-informed of new and existing technologies to innovate and grow social media experiences on Georgia Power's platforms and build an engaged social footprint
  • Guide digital creative to create engaging content
  • Proactively partner with media relations to identify media opportunities and garner positive coverage throughout the state
  • Support crisis communication and emergency nuclear communication exercises, and provide real-time social listening reports for key topics and events
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and the ability to speak with authority
