Senior Social Media Manager
About the Job
We're looking for an experienced and creative Sr. Social Media Manager to join our social media team. This is an incredible opportunity to help execute Udemy’s social program around the world at a key growth moment for the company.
You have a proven track record of managing social media programs, digital analytics, content ideation and production, and you’re results-driven with a passion for using social media to tell a deeper story about a brand. You’re strategic but also hands-on and on top of the details, and are comfortable working cross-functionally with internal and external teams.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Analyze Udemy’s social media strategy and identify strategic opportunities; contribute and present strategy, learnings and recommendations to leaders.
- Provide thought leadership and guidance for social media best practices such as content publishing guidelines, KPI benchmarks, and channel growth strategies across the organization.
- Create content and visual stories that are compelling to Udemy’s audiences; work with internal and external creative partners to develop content and visual assets, and get scrappy with light design work.
- Collaborate with Social Media Manager to develop long-term strategies for Udemy’s social presence.
- Manage and maintain social content calendar, including managing traffic of inbound content requests; work closely with internal stakeholders to align social campaigns to Udemy product, content, and business priorities.
- Own day-to-day management of community response and engagement across Udemy’s social media channels including but not limited to LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
- Maintain deep understanding of social media metrics and data analysis and ownership of data touchpoints; use data to inform future business decisions and present results to senior leadership.
- Partner with the Customer Support team to bring up and triage account or product issues as needed; provide feedback to cross-functional teams on social learnings.
We’re excited about you because you have:
- 5 - 10 years of experience in social media management for a brand or an agency.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience and demonstrated innovation in social media campaign strategy development.
- Experience in setting social media strategy and content direction.
- Ability to identify or produce great video content and have a firm grasp of social video trends and how they fit into each major channel.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with proven abilities in copywriting, proofreading, and editing.
- A global mindset with experience working in a non-US-centric environment or with teams in other parts of the world.
- Strong project management skills and are organized and detail oriented. (Experience working with project management tools such as Asana is a plus!)
- Experience working with social media management tools such as Hootsuite or Sprout Social.
- Experience using graphic design tools such as Canva and Adobe Photoshop.
- Thorough understanding of social media best practices and trends.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced organizations – you’re a nimble and quick thinker with an ability to multitask and prioritize in real-time.
- Experience working with external agencies.
