Alation is seeking a Social Media and Communications Manager to join our growing marketing team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering content at the heart of culture and at the speed of social. This position will play an integral role in communicating Alation’s value proposition and reputation as we quickly scale. Are you excited about how data is driving innovation in the world? This position will report to the Director of Communications and Public Relations.
What you'll be doing:
- Audit, refresh, and lead organic social media strategy including content planning, day-to-day execution, and communication of key brand moments, partnerships, product launches and news, across all social channels
- Partner closely with design team to develop imagery and graphics that bring social strategy to life
- Curate content to be used to by marketing, sales, and recruiting across Alation’s social channels (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram)
- Create and lead an employee advocacy program on social media channels (experience with SoSell a plus)
- Strengthen and grow engagement on social media channels, ensuring all external facing content is aligned with Alation’s vision and core values
- Brief cross-functional Marketing team on social media needs to align with key launches, marketing moments, and other initiatives
- Prepare, analyze and develop reports on social media performance to internal stakeholders and make recommendations, updates and improvements based on findings on a regular cadence
- Collaborate with customer marketing to identify relevant customers and curate stories for awards opportunities
- Draft press releases, contributed content, and speaking abstracts
- Collaborate across teams to identify narratives and data that elevate Alation’s positioning in the market
- Partner closely with the Director of Communications and PR, and People & Culture team, to establish and execute an internal communication strategy that aligns with company goals, objectives, and employee needs
- Identify opportunities to share key milestones, business updates, cross-functional projects, Diversity Equity & Inclusion (DEI) and social justice programs, and people & culture initiatives with the broader company
What you'll bring:
- 5-7+ years of experience managing LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Hubspot, SoSell, Sprinklr, or other social media scheduling, reporting and listening tools
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, journalism or communications is desired but not required
- Exceptional writing and editing skills across all online and offline channels, 5-7+ years of experience in B2B content marketing, public relations, communications or writing
- Superior organizational skills and focus with an attention to detail and process
- Strong project management skills
- Be comfortable managing multiple editorial cycles at all times, both current and upcoming
- An understanding of the technical buyer, with experience in big data, data & analytics, and emerging technology markets
- Flexibility to adapt to a constantly changing market and internal demands
- Ability to work independently as well as in a group setting
