Job summary
The Red Hat North America Public Sector (NAPS) Marketing team is looking for a SLED Field Marketing Manager to join us in Tysons Corner, VA. In this role, you will be responsible for the strategy and implementation of marketing plans, as well as sales enablement and support for state and local enterprise accounts across the West, Central, and East regions. You will develop and implement marketing programs to promote awareness, generate demand and pipeline, and contribute to bookings growth within these accounts. As a SLED Field Marketing Manager, you will work closely with the field sales team to provide the necessary sales tools and use case content. You'll need to have communication and coordination skills, ability to create and implement integrated programs, and experience with supporting field sales teams.
Primary job responsibilities

  • Collaborate with sales leadership and field teams to understand and support the go-to-market motions, market trends, messaging, and marketing priorities
  • Develop and implement state and local market-focused programs, working closely with cross-functional account teams to grow demand for Red Hat's portfolio of offerings and solutions
  • Manage strategy, marketing mix, and associated budget for campaigns, memberships and events
  • Serve as a point of contact between Sales and the corporate marketing and support teams to ensure messaging and campaigns speak to specific public sector market issues
  • Maintain internal communications of corporate events, campaigns, sales tools, and training
  • Track and measure program results to optimize ongoing plans and those for future quarters
  • Proactively communicate marketing contributions and influence to sales stakeholders in a regular cadence
  • Work with channel and alliance marketing teams to implement joint partner campaigns as applicable


Required skills

  • 5+ years of marketing experience, preferably in the technology field; public sector market experience is a big plus
  • Proven record of achieving campaign and marketing program results; U.S. public sector experience is a plus
  • Positive attitude, solid work ethic, responsiveness, and solid organization and communication skills
  • Keen understanding of field sales needs, stages of the customer buying cycle, campaign metrics and analysis, and market intelligence resources
  • Good writing skills to produce promotional messaging, website, and email copy
  • Solid presentation skills and ability to present to leadership
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership and creativity
  • Bachelor's degree; graduate degree is a plus
  • Willingness to travel 15-25%, following Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines
