Description

Use your writing and project management talents as part of a growing team dedicated to creating stronger, safer, smarter communities through technology. Tyler Technologies is looking for a senior public affairs specialist focused on corporate responsibility, client communications, and reputation management as part of the Corporate Communications team. This role is part of a recently formed team, and the successful candidate will contribute to building an exciting new public affairs function at Tyler. The specialist will develop materials and messaging with the goal of communicating Tyler's positive impact on public sector clients, Tyler Team members, shareholders, and community members.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage relevant corporate responsibility content, including the annual CR report, responses to RFPs, and content for Tyler's website, internal communications, and owned media.
  • Serve as a member of Tyler's ESG council and support communication to advance corporate responsibility goals.
  • Partner with key internal stakeholders to communicate corporate responsibility goals and strategy, identify and address challenges, and support initiatives in line with materiality assessment and focus areas as determined by the ESG Council.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Communications and application team members to develop and clarify technical and security messaging to clients.
  • Partner with the media team to implement and maintain reactive media relations strategies.
  • Monitor the effect of public policy changes on Tyler's client base and advise senior staff.
  • Field inquiries related to Tyler's corporate responsibility initiatives, staying informed of trends and best practices, and surfacing topics that need attention or discussion.
  • Support Corporate Communications in ensuring a positive perception of Tyler with other stakeholders, such as media, analysts, and industry organizations.
  • Ensure appropriate tracking, measurement, and analysis of performance against goals, and adjust where necessary as tools and trends evolve.
  • Work collaboratively as part of the Corporate Communications team, performing various communication tasks as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or comparable work experience
  • 10-12 years media or corporate communications experience in a business-to-business or business-to-government environment
  • Prior experience working with corporate responsibility and ESG reporting frameworks is preferred.
  • Strong writing and editing skills and the ability to generate impactful messages is required, demonstrated through writing samples and references.
  • Technology/software industry experience and public sector experience preferred.
  • Experience with effectively managing a variety of projects and timelines.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and deliver under pressure.
  • Strong networking skills.
  • Understanding of the legislative and regulatory process.
  • Information gathering and interpreting skills.
  • Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office 365 including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in a leadership or management role a plus.
  • An excellent understanding of technology applications, data management, image/media files, web media/interactive marketing, etc.
  • A positive attitude with a desire to go above and beyond expectations is key to the success of this role.
