About the job
The Red Hat Application Services Business Unit is looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager to join us in Westford, MA, or remotely. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and guiding the messaging, positioning, and go-to-market strategy for Red Hat's Application Services product portfolio as a critical capability for cloud native applications. You'll engage directly with customers and influencers to educate them on strategies and tools and develop marketing collateral and tools that will be used by Red Hat's Sales team and partners. As a Senior Product Marketing Manager you are expected to work with our cross-functional teams across BU, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Partners to drive customer education, marketing and technical content, field enablement, thought leadership and others pertaining to Application Services. You'll need to be able to manage complex projects collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while working across multiple virtual teams. You'll need to have a unique combination of project management, product marketing skills, technical insight into application development, APIs, application integration, data streaming and containers, and demonstrated successful record of leading offering or product marketing initiatives in a high-tech area. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Deliver strategic advice and education for key customer engagements like Red Hat events and as needed by account teams for executive briefings
  • Lead content development and deliver for go-to-market activities like roadshows, workshops, webinars, solutions demos, and industry and partner events
  • Increase awareness and meaningful adoption of Red Hat Application Services products with a focus on realizing value from cloud native applications
  • Collaborate with product marketing, technical marketing, product management, portfolio marketing, and sales teams to ensure that marketing plans, messaging, and content align with product and go-to-market objectives
  • Create compelling product messaging that embodies key product attributes, including value proposition, positioning, and differentiation
  • Bringsmarket intelligence and the voice of the customer to internal operations, helping Red Hat to apply its products and services to customer-focused stories that amplify our overall value across hybrid deployments including cloud services
  • Create and manage effective marketing assets and content, including presentations, case studies, solution briefs, web content, data sheets, and sales kits that can be used globally across traditional and digital channels
  • Collaborate with demand generation and sales to identify effective ways to include product capabilities in global campaigns to increase awareness and pipeline
  • Develop and deliver enablement and training activities for Sales, Presales, and Professional Services teams and partners
  • Collaborate with other product teams to create multi-product and solutions marketing materials that address customer use cases and issues
  • Support industry analyst engagements like briefings, inquiry, participate in market reports or vendors evaluations


What you will bring

  • 10+ years of software industry experience, preferably in an area of application development including integration, API Management, real-time messaging, data streaming, or process automation
  • 7+ years of product or solutions marketing or similar experience; solid ability to understand technologies and offerings and how to translate highly technical content into customer stories
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering direct to customer thought leadership presentations and conversations in group forums and account specific customer briefings
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, marketing, business, economics, or a related area; MBA is a plus
  • Deep knowledge of the enterprise software market, including key contacts, market trends, key industry analysts, and technology direction
  • Solid understanding of cloud computing infrastructure, container infrastructure, application development platforms, integration platforms or integration Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), API management, data streaming, and enterprise messaging
  • Solid attention to detail and project management capabilities
  • Proven record of success in a fast-moving, technical environment
  • Ability to develop compelling marketing programs and the requisite materials (themes, content, and assets) targeted to personas and buying groups by program
  • Solid written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Record of success in working in a persuasion-driven cross-functional environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects at once while working in a highly complex environment
  • Proactive and motivated with a challenger mindset, a solid work ethic, and a bias for action
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%, especially if working remotely following Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines
  • Proficiency in open source projects like Apache Camel, Apache Kafka, Apache ActiveMQ, Apicurio, Quarkus, Debezium, Kubernetes is plus
  • Experience in Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and other cloud-based services markets is a plus
