About the job
The Red Hat Product Marketing team is looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager to join us remotely or in one of our office locations: Raleigh, NC, Boston, MA, or San Francisco Bay Area. In this role, you will define and deliver the marketing strategy for workloads on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, including applications and data services. You will manage both the outbound product marketing activities and Red Hat sales enablement. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Develop understanding of customer goals and challenges, target markets, use cases, sales motions, and the joint solutions between Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform and independent software vendor (ISV) ecosystem for applications and data services
  • Develop marketing strategy and delivery aligned with market directions and supported by the roadmap and releases of our offerings
  • Collaborate internally with Red Hat Product Management, Engineering, Alliances, marketing teams, sales teams, and our ISV ecosystem counterparts to guide the delivery of marketing strategy
  • Lead and inspire the development of content to help gain mindshare and guide customer wins, e.g., messaging, thought leadership, presentations, sales plays, demonstrations, reference architectures, battlecards, webpages, and win wires
  • Proactively evangelize the joint Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform and ISV ecosystem solutions both internally and externally via webinars, social media, roadshows, industry events, customer briefings, and sales training workshops
  • Inspire industry analysts, customer campaigns, and field enablement programs
  • Develop and track the success metrics for the marketing strategy and delivery plan


What you will bring

  • 3+ years of product or technical marketing experience, preferably with traditional or cloud-native application development, databases, or cloud computing
  • Bachelor's degree; master's degree is a plus
  • Critical thinking skills with a proven ability to develop creative solutions
  • Ability to translate Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, our broader portfolio, and ISV ecosystem technology features into customer benefits and business outcomes
  • Solid written and verbal communication and presentation skills; experience presenting to medium to large audiences
  • Experience working effectively in a persuasion-oriented, cross-functional environment
  • Ability to work with a little supervision in a startup-like environment
  • Basic understanding of the common technical jargon of the information technology (IT), software application development, databases, clouds, and DevOps
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%, following Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines


The following are considered a plus:

  • Experience with enterprise or cloud-native applications, middleware, and databases, e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, API Management, MongoDB, Couchbase, Apache Kafka, Oracle, Java, SAS, SAP, or Red Hat Middleware
  • Experience with cloud platform technologies, e.g., containers, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, Pivotal, or VMware vSphere
  • Experience with public cloud offerings like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with event-driven architectures, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), edge computing, and 5G
