Okta’s the market leading identity platform for enterprises and consumer products alike. We are looking to grow the Customer Identity product marketing team with a talented PMM to tell our story for application and account security. You will work on Okta Authentication, MFA and Adaptive MFA products. 

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager, Customer Identity  who will own, lead, and drive the messaging, positioning, and GTM (Go-To-Market) strategy for the Okta’s CIAM security products.  Very importantly, if you are someone with  an “Ownership” / entrepreneurial mindset and attitude - we want you ! 

Who is the ideal candidate?

The successful candidate will have Product marketing management (PMM) experience with B2B  IaaS or Cloud platform marketing. Experience with developer(api products),  security and identity products is a strong plus.  Your work will reframe how CISOs, PMs, Engineering and Marketing Managers think about application/account security 

Who will you work with ? 

You will work closely with a cross functional set of partners across Okta including Field-Sales, Marketing, Partnerships and Product Management to drive the GTM motion for customer acquisition/expansion, field enablement programs, and pipeline growth.

What will your day to day look like?

A storyteller. You have a deep understanding and empathy for your customers and end-users and are able to adapt how you communicate to best reach and engage your audience—from developer to CTO, CMOs —and differentiate Okta. You must excellent verbal and written communication skills

In-bound Product research: You will need to be the trusted partner for product management to define the market requirements, conduct competitive research, AR analysis, develop customer segmentation, opportunity analysis, win-loss analysis  to prioritize product opportunities. You will focus your efforts on Okta security products which include authentication, MFA , Adaptive MFA and more. You will also define how we approach new security opportunities such as passwordless authentication, continuous authentication, fraud mitigation and more. 

Out-bound Product Marketing: You will work closely with various demand generation marketing & field functions to drive product awareness, adoption and renewal. 

Data-oriented: You love  data and numbers and are able to drive deep insights based on your research and analysis. Your input shall influence how we approach GTM, Product development and define how to take our products to market 

Persona research: You deeply understand the buyer and the end-user. Be the expert on your end-users and how they use the Okta platform; act as “the voice of the customer” across all functions (i.e., product management, sales, marketing).

Organized. You are able to manage highly interdependent, complex projects and keep various work streams on track

Required Skills:

  • Masters in business management (MBA) with a technical bachelors degree Bachelor’s or Masters  degree in Computer Engineering or Science. 
  • 4-6 years of product marketing, product management, pre-sales engineering, field engineering, or customer-facing support experience required
  • SaaS or Enterprise software experience is a must; proven track record marketing to a technical audience and working closely with the sales team. Experience selling security /api products that protect consumer facing applications is a strong plus
  • Ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and concisely with very strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks in a dynamic environment with competing priorities
  • Good written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Good focus towards metrics and measuring success
