The Marketing & Communications team is responsible for connecting the world to lifelong transformative learning. They also work to shape public conversations on the future of education and work. The team is segmented into four areas of focus: Consumer Marketing, Enterprise Marketing, Brand & Creative, and Communications. The team is currently focused on expanding the reach of Coursera’s brand and bringing new learners to the site, connecting students to degree programs, attracting new enterprise customers — including businesses, governments, and campuses — and creating a marketing system that nurtures learners throughout their professional lives. 


As a Senior Paid Ads Manager on the Consumer Marketing team, you'll manage and scale our advertising campaigns to drive students to our online degrees and drive revenue for Coursera through paid new user acquisition. You will own and scale our current efforts across all paid channels, and pilot new paid advertising opportunities to attract online degree students.


To be successful in this role, you will drive the roadmap for paid acquisition for the degree segment of our business, be responsible for managing a budget that hits acquisition targets consistently and work cross-functionally with brand, degree marketing, analytics, product and media agency partners to ensure we are driving performance and effectively communicating our brand.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive paid user acquisition for our degree business segment via paid digital channels.
  • Generate data-driven hypotheses and test, scale, and optimize marketing campaigns to cost-effectively drive key user actions on platform in partnership with our data analysts.
  • Identify the highest impact testing opportunities and channels, prioritize, execute, track results, and communicate to cross-functional teams and leadership as needed on results.
  • Report and analyze campaign performance on a weekly and monthly basis; develop insights and present quarterly business reviews.
  • Collaborate with Brand, Finance and Degree Marketing to ensure that we are driving performance while effectively communicating our brand and degree value proposition.
  • Partner with Data Science and Data Engineering to assess the data imports and data tables or fields needed to optimize our advertising campaigns.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in paid digital channels driving paid user acquisition in higher education or edtech with a record of meeting acquisition targets consistently. 
  • Demonstrated history of owning performance marketing goals and cost-efficient management of marketing budgets.
  • 3+ years of experience formulating and driving A/B testing and optimization, including using data to develop and analyze campaigns.
  • Experience with using data visualization tools, Excel and/or SQL to analyze campaign performance.
  • Demonstrated history partnering with brand or creative teams to formulate campaign messaging.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Google Ads or Facebook Blueprint certified
  • Digital marketing certifications
