Carat is looking to add a Senior Manager, SEO to its team, supporting one of its largest clients, General Motors. This client-facing role is a balance of analytical and executional, where you will manage junior teammates and help facilitate and oversee projects and daily activities. 

Job Description

You Will: 

  • Be your clients’ day-to-day SEO subject matter expert leading the accounts and proactively advocating for the progress of their programs with limited daily assistance from your SEO leadership.

  • Communicate clear requirements for our analysts’ research, analysis, and insights to ensure we are reporting our performance within the appropriate context of each client’s objectives. 

  • Lead competitive content, technical, and reputation audits for your clients using a suite of tools including but not limited to Screaming Frog, Deep Crawl, Sitebulb, Google Lighthouse, Ahrefs, Moz, and SEMRush, transforming insights into actions with illustrative examples for your clients. 

  • Provide project planning, guidance, and consultation throughout site designs, redesigns, and migrations to ensure that SEO best practices are proactively recommended and adhered to throughout these important processes. 

  • Identify emerging opportunities for your clients to compete in and proactively surface them to both your clients and our department through thoughtful points of view and recommendations delivered in Microsoft Word or PowerPoint presentations. 

  • Develop agendas and lead client calls, communicating channel performance and industry updates, especially those directly impacting your clients’ businesses. You will also be expected to proactively follow up to recap critical discussion points, next steps, and delivery dates with or without account team support. 

  • Own key vendor relationships for your assigned accounts, including vendors such as (but not limited to): BrightEdge, Chatmeter, Conductor, Deep Crawl, SEMRush, SEO Clarity, SweetIQ, and Yext. 

  • Ensure that you and your client teams are making effective use of the tools we have available, while holding yourself and others accountable for improving effective utilization. 

  • Review and provide best practice SEO recommendations for page templates, individual pieces of site content, and other assets such as YouTube videos including but not limited to meta data, schema markup, internal linking, and light content edits. 

Qualifications

You Have: 

  • 6+ years of SEO experience with content strategy, web development, and off-site platforms like YouTube. 

  • 2+ years of experience managerial experience, including experience developing and mentoring a team

  • Bachelor's degree. 

  • Client facing experienc, and ability to manage client communication without requiring Account Supervisor involvement. 

  • Ability to communicate well through writing, speaking, and visually in PowerPoint. 

  • Experience using web analytics platforms such as Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics. 

  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills including but not limited to skillful use of VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables. 

  • Intermediate experience using different SEO tools such as Deep Crawl, Screaming Frog, Bright Edge, Conductor, and SEMRush.

  • The ability to persuade others through logical, compelling arguments based in real data and illustrative examples.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $68,000 - $106,000 annually. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.
