The Senior Marketing Manager, Sinus and Skull Base, is an essential member of the Medtronic ENT Marketing team, reporting to the Global Downstream Marketing Director. In this role, you will lead the Global Downstream Marketing team for our growing Sinus and Skull Base Portfolio.

Your role will be to develop comprehensive product marketing plans and ensure roll-out through the various regions across the globe. You will define the product and brand strategy with the ENT Marketing team and drive cross-functional collaboration into the development of product launches, marketing initiatives and customer-engagement programs. You will inspire, lead and coach a group of downstream product managers as well as develop strong relationships with global marketing partners, other therapy marketing teams, and cross-functional partners.

*Medtronic ENT is based in Jacksonville, FL. This role is open to remote within the East Coast or Midwest region for well qualified candidates. Must be near a large, international airport.

A Day in the Life

  • Lead the Sinus and Skull Base product management function incorporating global product life cycle management
  • Develop comprehensive integrated marketing plans considering opportunities for portfolio growth, including positioning and messaging, competitive strategy, pricing, market development, training and education, KOL strategy, communication strategy, learning plan and more
  • Conduct competitive product analysis and market research of product consumer behavior and professional audience.
  • Plan initiate, monitor, track marketing projects and process improvement initiatives, and facilitate successful, on-time and within budget execution. Initiatives include developing and implementing new product launches, designing and implementing various marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with global partners and key opinion leaders to effectively communicate our Sinus and Skull Base portfolio value proposition, differentiation from competition, and identify new market segment opportunities to expand market penetration across the portfolio and drive market share, revenue and profitability.
  • Build business plans, competitive plan development, pricing analysis, sales/revenue forecasting, analysis of distribution/channel issues, and inventory management.
  • Set clear direction and management objectives that aligns with defined practices and policies and enhances the organization's assessment of existing and potential markets and for the development of new and innovative solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Direct day-to-day activities for multiple work-stream teams through managing project plans, resourcing, status reporting, resolving issues, identifying project risks and accountabilities for deliverables across multiple functional organizations. Establish meaningful metrics and tracks against them.
  • Interact and work closely with other departments, such as but not limited to Sales, Medical Education, Field Training and Development, Regulatory Affairs to ensure marketing programs achieve Medtronic's short and long-term goals while remaining consistent with organization's overall mission.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers and key opinion leaders. Work with the team to define and execute on customer feedback planning - through market research, field travel and customer visits.
  • Lead and participate in core team as requested by senior leadership to address key business opportunities and challenges.
  • Communicate effectively and ensure leadership is well informed and aligned with key strategies and recommendations. Provide for ongoing reporting of ENT OU and product launch progress to plan, measure impact of marketing initiatives, sales analysis, competitive analysis and customer feedback. Present to senior leadership at Business Reviews.
  • Lead a team of marketers. reviews the work of a team of professionals and/or vendors who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments.
  • Build, develop and promote marketing talents within the team and across the organization.
  • Travel globally up to 40%. Spend significant time in the field with sales personnel and customers to understand their perspective and ideas, and stay at the front of market dynamics and changes. Represent the customer during internal meetings, and represent the company during key customer interactions and at medical congresses.

 

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors' degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in marketing or field sales role with at least 3 years of core downstream marketing experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years'
  • Minimum of 5+ years of managerial experience (people or program)

Nice to Have

 

 

  • Master's degree/MBA in Business, Marketing, or related field strongly preferred
  • Global experience with demonstrated success in understanding and interpreting cultural differences
  • Proven ability to work in, and motivate cross-functional teams
  • Upstream and downstream medical device marketing experience
  • Strong knowledge of the global healthcare market
  • Knowledge of ENT navigation and/ or powered instrumentation
  • Previous people management experience
  • Experience developing and successfully executing marketing plans
  • Ability to quickly develop relationships and rapport with individuals at all levels and from all cultures
  • Experience in strategic product development planning
  • Experience developing brand strategy and tactics to grow volume and market share
  • Ability to clearly communicate marketing strategy and tactical plans to applicable field teams
  • Demonstrated success in developing relationships with colleagues, customers and industry KOLs
  • Strong organizational skills. Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple products / projects
  • Skills in financial analysis, and forecasting
  • Excellent interpersonal, selling, communication and presentation skills
  • Independence, energy, and positive attitude
  • Ability to adapt and change within dynamic corporate and business environment
