Within Nike's Global Consumer Marketing organization, The Global Paid Media + Partnerships team sets the long-term marketing strategy for social, search and video off-platform to better use paid and earned media to create and serve athletes* through greater demand/efficiency.

We drive strong relationships with our most important third-party platforms and agencies, and define the long-term vision for our AdTech roadmap.
Who we are looking for
The Senior Director, Social Platforms acts as the team lead across our key social partners (Meta, Google, Snap, TikTok, Twitter). This team will have dedicated Directors defined by partner. The focus of this role is delivering long term platform strategy and capabilities across all our social partners with a focus on both paid and organic opportunities. This role will define the overarching partnership strategy and management inclusive of innovation via short- and long-term platform strategies. Territories will include but not be limited to new experiences, formats, content, measurement and automation with a hyper focus on delivering value through social channels to out athletes*.

This leader supports teams across Strategy, Studio/Creative, Brand Management, Geo Marketing teams (CDM and Integrated Media), Global CDM, Ad Tech Portfolio & Capabilities, Data Operations, Legal, Procurement & Privacy, Sports Marketing, Insights and agencies.

We're looking for someone who is passionate about social media with experience in partnership management and deep platform expertise. You will act as a futurist on the future of the social space. This is critical within the role as our most significant opportunities may be multi-year ambitions charting unexplored territories!
What you will work on
The Senior Director of Social Platforms embodies an entrepreneurial spirit coupled with the foresight required for an enterprise brand, as well as experience providing product feedback to major social platforms, experience launching new capabilities in a variety of functions, and working knowledge to engage with technical leads. You'll be able to negotiate firmly on behalf of Nike, while fostering a positive partnership and relationship, and forging internal partnership across Nike teams to execute!
Key Responsibilities Include
Partnership Management

  • Act as main Nike point of contact for our social partners globally
  • Monitor and review overall process and spend
  • Implement brand safety measures
  • Orchestrate semi-regular business reviews and other top to top meetings with partners and Nike leadership
  • Collaborate and form relationships across internal cross functional partners to build from their strategic focus areas to a complete platform vision, and path to execution

Long Term Vision Across our Social Partners

  • Develop long term Nike philosophical approach and strategic vision across partners within the social space
  • Develop new capabilities that support consumer experiences, formats, data on platforms
  • Deliver traffic driving initiatives by leading with innovation
  • Develop global strategies for organic and paid marketing
  • Act as Nike's central POC to drive maximum value from this strategic platform
  • Inform consumer behavior trends that should impact our overall approach to the platform
  • Craft industry leading expectations for partners to progress together toward aligned values across consumer safety, measurement, brand safety, and beyond
  • Set governance, policies and procedures and requirements for channel management for our partners (e.g. channel creation/deletion/access)
  • Evaluate social partner portfolio to best leverage platform superpowers and provide strategic recommendations on which partnerships to leverage to specific outcomes/with specific technology or pilots, guide any exclusivity commitments accordingly
  • Define Global/Geo operating models and processes
  • Craft industry leading expectations for partners to progress together toward aligned values across consumer safety, measurement, brand safety, and beyond.

Platform Excellence

  • Team leadership which will be structured by key partners
  • Synthesize feedback and best practices across the Geo & Global teams though your team and proactively share these best practices back with internal teams
  • Define annual and seasonal KPIs in partnership with cross functional teams
  • Experience with advanced analytics across platforms / walled gardens
  • Develop global best practices for (campaign management) seasonal and daily marketing across our social partners
  • Drive business intelligence across our social partners
  • Define creative support opportunities with our social partners that augment scale and/or up level skill across teams
  • Define launch plan for new capabilities in line with strategic vision for the platform and partnership with relevant cross functional teams
  • Define new ways of thinking about creative support and how to fuel via new sources - dynamic, creators, etc. creative support opportunities with our social partners that augment scale and/or up level skill across teams



What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree or higher or equivalent combination of education and experience and training
  • 10-15 years' experience in social and digital marketing, with focus on strategy for enterprise, matrixed brands (brand or agency side)
  • Proven platform experience
  • A detailed understanding of social media platforms from emerging products to user trends to best practices in content creation and distribution.
  • Experience managing paid social campaigns across multiple social media platforms.
  • High-level thinker with strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence in communication, presentation, project management and collaboration.
  • Data-driven decision making
  • A self-starter with the ability to quickly learn, adapt and be agile in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Understanding of current privacy and brand safety landscape with social lens
  • Standards & governance
  • Strategic understanding of social integration across online to offline journey planning, across all digital & physical channels
  • Futurist approach to enable a multi-year cross-channel, global platform strategy crafted to exceed consumer expectations and goals
  • Experience in partner management across two global, matrixed organizations
