At AllStripes, we are dedicated to unlocking new treatments for people affected by rare disease. There are 7,000 rare diseases affecting 1 in 10 people globally, yet less than 5% of conditions have an FDA-approved therapy. The rare disease drug R&D market is growing at an unprecedented rate, making up over 50% of all novel drugs approved by the FDA in the last year. AllStripes’ two-sided consumer-facing and enterprise software platform serves 1) rare disease patients by showing them their own impact on drug development and 2) life sciences customers by sharing critical disease insights not available anywhere else.

AllStripes is the leading research platform dedicated to rare disease. We are a Public Benefit Corporation on a mission to unlock new treatments for people affected by rare disease, and we’re transforming how patients and families are involved in the research process. Everyone at AllStripes is driven by a deep commitment to our mission, a passion for problem-solving, and an openness to vulnerability. We regard our culture as one of the products we offer. As a team, we practice conscious leadership, where we are committed to supporting each other to be curious, open, and playful in order to build a connected, creative, and energetic fully-distributed work culture. An Insider's view of AllStripes

What projects are you most excited about?

Over the next 2 years we will be green-fielding in 3 domains. 1) A new patient experience to provide ongoing community value, 2) bringing automation and a data pipeline mindset into all of the steps between patients joining our platform and their medical histories contributing to research, and 3) a SaaS experience for our life sciences partners.

Jon

Sr. Engineering Manager

What are some things you learned at the company?

I am constantly inspired by the rare communities we serve — their resilience is something that I draw inspiration from every day. We don’t always get it right on the first try but working directly with the communities we serve and prioritizing their needs means that we are committed to doing better.

Radha

Director Of Strategic Partnerships

How do your team's ideas influence the company's direction?

Leadership strongly believes that great ideas can come from anywhere in the organization. There are two primary avenues for team members’ ideas to influence the company’s direction. One: regular cross-functional team meetings where ideas are shared. Two: there is tight alignment and strong collaboration between operational and product teams.

Collin

Director of Operations

How do you make yourself accessible to the rest of the team?

Our team keeps our Slack status and calendar working hours up to date, which helps with knowing when our colleagues are open to a quick huddle (or not). We’re also continuing to identify ways to recreate that feeling of having lunch together, or just pausing to talk about current events. When we do, our team grows stronger because of it.

Erin

Director, Community Success & Patient Engagement
