The Role: Xylem seeks to hire a Senior Digital Marketing Channel Manager to develop, support, and execute successful organic and paid strategies that leverage digital channels to drive demand and engagement across the customer journey. We are looking for an experienced digital channel lead who can collaborate and help build a best-in-class web experience alongside a growing digital team. This is an exciting role for a self-starter, an effective communicator, and a well-versed storyteller who loves to use data to paint the path forward.

The right candidate will be to be at the forefront of redefining how we approach search marketing, inbound and performance marketing and demand generation, and taking it to new heights with innovation, creativity and a growth mindset. Working in close partnership with team members across products, marketing, and regions, this position will help drive strategy, key initiatives and the roadmap for organic and paid projects. You will report to the Director of Digital Experience and can be based remotely or in one of our offices in Rye Brook, NY - Charlotte, NC - Raleigh, NC - Chicago, IL - Washington, D.C.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

  • Lead and educate on channel marketing strategy development, search best practices, keyword research processes and opportunity analyses
  • Continuously identify new channel growth opportunities by analyzing existing product and content architecture, SEO keyword constructs, metadata practices, content audits and data/traffic analysis
  • Develop, socialize and champion an SEO-driven content strategy among various cross-functional partners, backed by data and forecasts
  • Educate product, marketing, and development teams and partners on current industry trends and content methodologies
  • Continuously partner to implement SEO standards during site redesigns, new product rollouts, migrations, major and minor enhancements and new site features.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities across paid media to capture relevant audience share of voice and intent, and drive engagement across channels.
  • Have a clear point of view and be able to communicate and present effectively to executives, partners, and users/customers
  • Provide periodic and regular updates to team members & key partners on project status, timelines, and results.
  • Keep up with industry trends, search engine algorithm updates, competitive landscape
  • Balance several initiatives efficiently in parallel and shift priorities as needed.
  • Partner with content, product, marketing, global, regional and technical teams to track and report on organic and paid efforts.


Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • Proven experience in B2B Digital Marketing and paid media experience with a successful track record of executing, measuring, and delivering on digital marketing performance metrics.
  • Experience in SEO and/or SEM Manager or similar role. Ideally 7-10 years of experience across major search engines and marketing channels like paid media, social media, and demand side platforms. Global experience and management ideal.
  • Understanding of B2B sales process
  • Analytical orientation. Excellent at both quantitative and qualitative analysis. Strong ability to frame issues, drive appropriate analyses, and make clear, impactful recommendations.
  • Attention to detail with strong project management capabilities.
  • Successful candidate should be a hardworking, creative self-starter with an innovative attitude, with validated ability to successfully drive complex issues through analysis and resolution
  • Ability to influence and align cross-functional teams toward common goals. Defines and communicates the strategic priorities, roles and responsibilities vital to achieve a vision
  • Must have experience with enterprise websites, cultures, and work environments.
  • Experience with paid media channels and strategies.
  • Familiarity with popular SEO industry tools and resources including Google Analytics, Search Console, Tag Manager, BrightEdge, CrazyEgg, HotJar, SEMRush, and others, to glean valuable insights and findings from data.
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS for technical SEO.
  • Understanding of key SEO tactics and approaches for Web Vitals optimization and internationalization
  • Experience with keyword search, ranking with analytical abilities to test hypotheses for content effectiveness and recommended adjustments to achieve business outcomes (e.g., traffic goals, page performance, search rankings, etc.)
  • Coordination with paid advertising, social media, and PPC efforts for greater optimization and efficiency.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting and influencing product, ecommerce, and content strategy.
  • Familiarity with information architecture concepts
  • International search engine experience - Baidu, Yandex, etc
  • Familiarity with test and learn and optimization approaches and
  • Creative, results-oriented and analytical problem solver
  • Passionate about SEO and focused on driving growth for the business.
  • Comfortable using data to identify and analyze areas for improvements.
  • Ability to articulate ideas in SEO content documentation, setting standards for rolling out content onto the website.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and to work independently and within a team.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to an always evolving search industry.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to non-technical audiences.
  • Capable of prioritizing multiple ad hoc requests.
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
