We are looking for a media-savvy Public Relations Representative to join the Corporate Communications at Qualcomm. The Corporate Communications team is responsible for engaging with top tier media and proactively securing coverage that highlights Qualcomm's leadership and successful business diversification strategy, and reinforces its c-suite executives as thought leaders. This role will focus on establishing and maintaining relationships with media at business, financial, political and consumer outlets to drive coverage that supports the needs of the business.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Assisting in the expansion of a program taking an account-based approach to media that entails strategically evaluating and engaging with target outlets from all angles - both earned and owned media, speakerships, and awards - on behalf of the broader Communications team
  • Identifying, developing, and nurturing relationships with key reporters and editors at top tier outlets
  • Collaborating with the product communications team to ensure that relevant media opportunities are shared across the team and larger company story lines are substantive
  • Monitoring news cycles and identifying opportunities for to insert Qualcomm's POV
  • Supporting the creation of communications plans that activate against our thought leadership campaigns and other select programs
  • Providing guidance and counsel to spokespersons including briefing materials, interview prep, media relationship management, etc.
  • Collaborating with digital and product marketing teams to ensure alignment and amplification of media efforts
  • Drafting, circulating and managing reviews/approvals for press releases, press notes, bylines, etc.

Minimum Requirements

  • 3-4 years of relevant PR experience required; PR agency experience preferred
  • Deep understanding of the media landscape and experience engaging with and maintaining relationships with business and technology media
  • Experience building media lists, drafting pitches, and creating reports
  • Experience contributing to executive and company positioning
  • Strong strategic and creative thinking
  • Highly developed verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to balance multiple projects at the same time, meet tight deadlines on a daily basis and quickly change course when necessary



Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
