The Program Manager, Supplier Marketing role is a full-time position supporting our supplier and co-op marketing initiatives at Whole Foods Market (WFM) with a particular focus on eCommerce merchandising. This role will execute against supplier campaigns in the eCommerce space and will generate insights to help set the foundation for a more robust future program. This role includes cross-functional collaboration within the Global Marketing planning process and with the eCommerce, Marketing Analytics, and Accounting/Finance teams to deliver strong business results against our stated supplier marketing goals. Additionally, this role works closely with teams outside of WFM Marketing including WFM Merchandising partners, suppliers, Amazon Marketing/Advertising and Amazon Product teams. This role reports into the Senior Program Manager, Global Supplier Marketing.
**This position is not fully remote and will require three days a week in downtown Austin headquarters.

Critical skills needed to be successful in this role:

  • Knowledge and understanding of retail merchandising and store/ecommerce operations, and how these inputs can inform omnichannel strategies
  • Conceptual understanding of the underlying technology used to deliver eCommerce experiences. Understanding of product data, data structures, and data management
  • Strong analytical approach, leveraging data and insights to inform strategy
    and business decisions
  • Business Judgement – able to quickly see the immediate and potential downstream impact of decisions

Core Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with eCommerce and Merchandising teams, executes online merchandising opportunities to drive brand awareness and sales for supplier partners as part of larger co-op marketing initiatives as well as ad hoc supplier campaigns
  • Executes funded supplier merchandising campaigns in the eCommerce space, managing inputs ranging from the identification of priorities and supporting imagery to generating post-execution reports with insights and facilitating supplier billing
  • Ensures critical stakeholders are informed and have appropriate levels of influence over supplier campaign execution in the eCommerce space
  • Responsible for tracking against all funding target goals on an ongoing basis to ensure we’re accounting for all monetized efforts in order to achieve annual financial forecasts
  • Identify and align objectives cross-functionally, including the ongoing test-and-learn approach with supplier monetization program that will fuel optimization and customer engagement
  • Develop, deploy, and act on stakeholder feedback loops, including working closely with teams responsible for development of multi-stakeholder platforms and channel plans with detailed data from diverse sources and review for alignment with key business-driving objectives
  • Ensure program/supplier reporting is executed and appropriate levels of detail are shared with suppliers
  • Manage relationship with Amazon to identify and iterate upon collaboration opportunities
  • Partner with merchandising and promo planning to establish promo terms for program activation and to facilitate supplier/product selection, pitching and funding tactics

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • 2-4 years of relevant marketing experience at a well-established retailer, CPG or top-tier company with experience leading marketing in collaboration with retailers and/or product teams
  • Merchandising experience working directly with suppliers will also be considered
  • Management of detailed task/project planning, including cost, schedule, and resource requirements
  • Experience and genuine interest in collaborative and integrated Supplier Marketing
  • Highly analytic with a demonstrated ability to translate quantitative and qualitative data into actionable strategies and plans, and inform future planning with objective insights, reporting and analytics
  • Genuine passion for Whole Foods Market, our core values, and culture
  • BA/BS required
  • Requires travel approximately 10-15%, as needed.
