As our first product marketing manager, you’ll work to shape the function of product marketing at Pie. You’ll champion go-to-market campaigns that drive adoption and engagement of our products at scale, helping establish Pie as the leading commercial insurer among small business owners and independent insurance agents. In this highly visible and collaborative role, you’ll build strong relationships with product and other teams, serving as a subject matter expert for product marketing across the organization. You’ll develop a deep understanding of our audiences and products, putting you in a strong position to ensure our customers’ needs are at the forefront of everything we do.


This role has the option to be hybrid or remote. Hybrid work locations provide team members with the flexibility of working partially from our Denver or DC office and from home. Remote team members must live and work in the United States, and have access to reliable, high-speed internet. 

How You’ll Do It

  • Lead go-to-market efforts for new products and feature launches, driving scaled adoption.
  • Spearhead go-to-market channel mix (e.g., emails, advertising, PR, webinars, trainings) and campaign timelines to communicate product benefits to our audiences in order to drive adoption and engagement in coordination with marketing and PR colleagues.
  • Serve as the primary marketing stakeholder and marketing subject matter expert to product and other teams working on new products and feature updates.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (UX, underwriting, BD, sales, analytics) to understand the full impact of product launches on users to inform communications strategy and messaging.
  • Understand competitor products to communicate how new offerings may set Pie apart from the market.
  • Develop a holistic understanding of our multiple audiences (direct, agency, internal) and advocate for their interests through all stages of product development.
  • Analyze go-to-market campaign metrics and continuously iterate on approaches to improve results.
  • Help build formalized documentation, processes, and procedures for product marketing at Pie.
  • Lead marketing reviews and approvals of product wireframes and copy to ensure our brand is reflected in the user experience.
  • Work closely with the product team on an ongoing basis to develop a deep and up-to-date understanding of our products, current and future features, and use cases.
  • Socialize product roadmap and timelines with marketing stakeholders.
  • Anticipate how product launches may affect marketing funnel metrics, proactively strategize with marketing, and advocate for thorough reporting.

The Right Stuff

  • 5+ years experience in marketing, with 2+ years experience in product marketing.
  • Data-driven approach and strong analytical skills.
  • Outstanding writer and editor with exceptional attention to detail.
  • You have a demonstrated ability to build partnerships and influence decision-makers to meet shared objectives.
  • You’re able to deliver complex and technical information to achieve alignment across multiple stakeholders.
  • You understand workflows across teams and recognize tradeoffs to develop creative solutions. 
  • You get up to speed fast, diving into understanding our industry, audiences, and products.
  • You’re always asking the next question.
  • You’re excited to develop new approaches while ensuring our brand voice and positioning remain consistent.
  • You’re willing to roll up your sleeves with a strong belief that the buck stops with you.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field preferred or equivalent years of experience.

We value and want to support our team members, and are proud to offer a comprehensive compensation package which includes the following:


Compensation Range for position: $100,000 - $118,000


Each year Pie reviews company performance and may grant discretionary bonuses to eligible team members.
