What you will do:
Northwestern Mutual (NM) is looking for a product marketer that is passionate about helping people succeed in achieving their financial goals while being a key contributor to execute on marketing strategies that position, package and promote NM products and services to increase awareness, drive consideration and ultimately help our exclusive distribution system of financial professionals sell. As part of the Product Marketing team, this role will partner with the business and the rest of Marketing to manage all marketing materials, integrated, cross-channel marketing activities for products and services, while aligning with business priorities and driving measurable results.
How you will do it:
- Project Management: Independently provide project leadership, including plan development, timeline management, implementation, and post launch analysis.
- Problem Solving - resourceful and capable of navigating through complex business challenges; comfortable in situations where roles are not clearly defined
- Organized Execution - demonstrated superior ability to manage multiple complex projects and deadlines in fast-paced, team and independent environments; keeps items on track, within budget and at required level of quality
- Drive and Accountability - works independently; manages significant workload; not afraid to take charge to get things done; follows through on commitments to achieve results
- Consumer/Client Marketing Mindset - understanding of and experience implementing basic marketing and project management principles and strategies to help drive consumer awareness and consideration
- Marketing Material Management: marketing material creation and updating that supports our advisor distribution system on sales of NM products and services and support growth of the business.
- Process Management/Improvement -consistently identify process improvement opportunities as ways to enable the business and teams to operate more efficiently.
- Lead by Influence - ability to negotiate, influence, and build credibility and strong partnerships in matrixed organization across business functions and levels
- Communication - strong communication skills are a must (writing, speaking, listening, influencing), with the ability to influence without authority and manage through ambiguity
Bring Your Best! What this role needs:
- Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in marketing/communications, business, or related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience in a professional marketing or communications setting; corporate, agency or financial services industry
- Ability to Drive: Demonstrate an ability to drive programs to completion through necessary processes and approval to effectively meet deadlines and deliver a high-quality product.
- Organization Skills: Demonstrated superior ability to manage multiple complex projects and deadlines in fast-paced, team and independent environments
- Critical Thinking: Demonstrated skills in problem-solving, listening, planning and thought leadership
- Analytical Skills: Results-driven focus with ability to use data intelligence to influence decisions and refine strategies.
- Adaptability: thrives in an environment of ambiguity, innovation, and ongoing change
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience and knowledge in the Insurance industry would be a bonus. (Specifically, with Permanent Life Insurance, Disability Insurance and Annuities)
