About the job
The Red Hat Product Marketing team is looking for a Product Marketing Manager to join our Hybrid Platforms business team. In this role, you will define, position, and guide the strategy for Red Hat OpenShift, as well as all outbound product marketing activities. You'll create successful customer stories and use cases to help the global Field Sales team achieve success. You will also establish clear understanding of target customers, business drivers, and selling motions to your sales channels, as well as design innovative marketing programs to guide customer and channel demand. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Develop messaging and positioning for the Red Hat OpenShift product family, including our on-premise, developer, and cloud-based services
  • Create effective marketing assets and content, including whitepapers, presentations, case studies, solutions briefs, web content, data sheets, and sales kits that can be used globally
  • Define market segmentation and develop the marketing strategy that maps to target buyer, business problems, and IT initiatives aligned with the business opportunity
  • Own and guide product launch strategy with a cross-functional team; develop objectives and success metrics for the introduction of new offerings
  • Define sales enablement strategy for our sellers in inside, field, technical, and partner-facing roles; develop and deliver sales enablement content and playbooks
  • Coordinate with strategic partners where appropriate to align messaging and solutions; create materials that can be used by all relevant partners for their marketing efforts
  • Conduct ROI analyses and develop content to help customers make the business case for our solution; develop customer evidence and map it to use cases
  • Gather competitive intelligence on our key competitors, develop differentiation materials for the field and for external consumption
  • Support industry analyst and media briefings
  • Define pricing and bundling strategy for this line of offerings
  • Represent Red Hat at customer and industry events


What you will bring

  • Software industry experience, preferably within an area of application development, infrastructure software (operating system, cloud, virtualization) or system management
  • Product marketing experience
  • Knowledge of the infrastructure, application development, and cloud markets, including key players, market trends, key industry analysts, and technology direction
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, marketing, business, economics, or a related area; MBA is a plus
  • Proven record of building, getting buy-in for, and carrying out marketing plans, while staying focused and proactive in a fast-moving, technical environment
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills with the ability to explain and translate complex technology concepts into simple and intuitive communications
  • Comfortable working with and presenting to all levels of an organization
  • Experience working effectively in an influence-driven, cross-functional environment
  • Ability to be meet deadlines and handle multiple projects at once while working in a highly complex environment
  • Experience with social media and digital marketing
