Ready to challenge yourself to dive deep and think big? Ookla, the company behind Speedtest and Downdetector, is a team of passionate individuals who have turned clever ideas into unique products and a thriving business. Globally, millions of tests are performed every day across the Speedtest ecosystem on the web, desktop and mobile apps, embedded in routers and deployed in thousands of servers. With all that usage comes countless ways to dissect and analyze our data, and plenty of exciting opportunities to optimize our monetization strategy. It also gives us the ability to help make the Internet better, faster and more accessible for everyone. If you crave the chance to do your best work in a flexible work environment where we value individuality and fun as much as we value talent, we want to hear from you.

Ookla is looking for a Product Marketing Manager to help scale go-to-market efforts globally across a broad stack of enterprise technology and data solutions.

This role is ideal for an individual who has experience developing world-class product messaging and branding, as well as familiarity with the enterprise sales cycle. Candidates should be eager to dive deep into technical product positioning, customer use cases, competitive research and go-to-market strategy for a wide portfolio of enterprise products. The ideal candidate has a passion for distilling complex technical information into clear value propositions for the people who use our products. If you like doing all of the above in a challenging, dynamic work environment with the support of a cross-functional team, we’d love to talk.

Expectations for Success:

  • Partner with the product team to create compelling product positioning and messaging
  • Develop detailed customer profiles, including user personas and buyer personas for a range of products serving multiple industries
  • Inform go-to-market strategy for launching new products, new features and existing products into new markets or industry verticals
  • Conduct competitive research and develop product positioning relative to other solutions
  • Implement and analyze customer surveys
  • Develop sales enablement content, including sales decks and marketing materials
  • Partner with the broader marketing team to inform marketing content and campaigns
  • Collaborate with the sales training team to deepen sales team familiarity with product value propositions and differentiators
  • Monitor product sales and revenue to inform enterprise marketing strategy

Requirements

The heading says “requirements” but we’re looking for the right person not the exact list. If your life experience prepares you for similar challenges, we’d like to hear from you.

  • 3-5+ years experience in product marketing, with a strong focus on SaaS or enterprise technology
  • Expert business writing skills
  • Proven track record of developing technical product positioning and messaging
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with content, sales, product, and training teams
  • Deep expertise in communicating product benefits to customers, industry analysts, the media and the public
  • Experience conducting customer research and win-loss analysis
  • Functional knowledge of SEO and keyword research
  • Energized by a fast-paced environment where project priorities and key messages change frequently
  • Commitment to proactively fostering an inclusive and equitable work environment for all people
  • Experience in the internet or telecommunications industry not required, but a plus
