Product Marketing Manager - Software Job Description

Introduction:

The Product Marketing Manager - Software Solutions is a strategic and creative marketer at the forefront of accelerating growth initiatives of our retail software portfolio. You will be responsible for unlocking and encoding buyer needs into the DNA of the business to discover growth opportunities and maximize go-to-market performance. As a retail industry leader, Toshiba is proud to work closely with many of most successful retailers in the world. This role will lead our marketing efforts to showcase how our software portfolio accelerates their digital transformation well into the future. You will collaborate closely with Product Management and Sales.

The Product Marketing Manager will act as the global marketing leader with a core focus on our extensive retail Software portfolio, including our industry-leading ELERA commerce platform and applications. You will lead efforts to create and manage comprehensive marketing plans including to craft and execute messaging, positioning, launch strategies, and sales enablement while also partnering closely with stakeholders to influence product roadmap and go-to-market planning and strategies.

Your impact will be measured on effective product launches that build awareness. You will also be responsible for the design and execution of demand generating lead campaigns for individual products targeting specific segments or buyer personas.

Success in this role looks like:

Product Marketing

  • Translate the company's business objectives, market opportunities, and software portfolio of offerings into a cohesive marketing strategy
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business (e.g., sales, product management, professional services and marketing) to design an aligned set of strategies, tactics, and resources that achieve corporate objectives
  • Build the go-to-market plan to support and grow the software portfolio of offerings, including prioritizing and aligning target audiences, developing effective messaging, and planning campaign strategy - deeply embedded as a partner to the Product Management organization.
  • Oversee launch planning for new offerings and execution to build awareness. Participate actively as primary Marketing stakeholder in internal portfolio meetings and processes from 'Concept' to 'Launch'
  • Create and oversee the execution of specific assets, deliverables, education, tools, and enablement activities necessary to support your portfolio. Develop marketing collateral to help executive briefings, analyst groups, portfolio teams and sales to drive customer adoption.
  • Provide Voice of Customer insight and support to leadership based on software insights, plus segment research and knowledge.



Sales Enablement

  • Oversee effective knowledge transfer process, creation of assets and alignment to seller journey through sales enablement in close collaboration with Instructional Designers
  • Work hand-in-hand with sales to continuously harvest and update materials to ensure consistency in messaging externally



Campaigns for Growth

  • Design campaign blueprints and execution of campaigns for effective lead generation, in close collaboration with sales teams and strategies - including ABM and broader demand efforts.
  • Partner with campaign team and other product marketing managers to create compelling retail solutions to address market needs and articulate value



Skills for Success:

  • Develop global marketing plans including buyer personas, go-to-market requirements, outbound marketing requirements.
  • Define and creating Buyer Personas
  • Articulate solutions value (business and technical) through creative storytelling
  • Skilled in messaging and positioning offerings, including effectively leading workshops with stakeholders
  • Proven success launching new products and services; creative and clear targeting of key influencers and decision-makers
  • Experience creating and implementing successful demand programs that activate, validate, and accelerate a buyer's journey.
  • Data-driven decision-making

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field; or relative experience. MBA or equivalent preferred
  • 5+ years of experience working in B2B product marketing with a concentration in digital marketing (particularly for high-tech companies).
  • Cloud, SaaS, platform software marketing experience preferred.
  • Understanding of retail software solutions available within the B2B market a plus
  • Pragmatic Marketing certified in Foundations, Market and Launch a plus
