About the job
The Red Hat Application Services team is looking for a remote Product Marketing Manager. In this role, you will focus on competitive research and analysis for all middleware products. As a member of the Red Hat Application Services team, you will be assigned responsibility for competitive intelligence and analysis of multiple middleware products. You will monitor and evaluate competitive intelligence leads from all available internal and external sources to develop a thorough understanding of the competitive landscape. You'll steadily and predictably create content for internal and public use that describes how our products compare to competitors. You'll collaborate with Product Marketing and Product Management to understand product features, futures, markets, and marketing messages, and how those compare to the competition.
You must be able to manage complex projects in a fast-paced environment collaborating with various teams. To succeed in this role, you must be able to dig into and build a solid competitive understanding of our products as well as competitors. You'll serve as a key source of competitive knowledge, and must enjoy and excel at working collaboratively and cross-functionally as a part of a team to produce actionable market and competitive landscape insights.
What you will do

  • Collaborate with the Product Management team to understand product features and solutions they apply to; provide feedback on how this compares to what competitors offer
  • Collaborate with the Product Marketing team to understand markets for products and go-to-market messages; provide feedback on how this compares to what competitors offer
  • Ensure that competitive collateral for internal use and external publication align with market directions, marketing plans, and support roadmaps for releases of our offerings
  • Support sales engagements with competitive advice and content where required in high-contact accounts worldwide by collaborating with field sales and services teams
  • Collect, validate, analyze, and interpret a broad range of market-related data, including industry, financial, volume, market, and competitive insights needed to develop competitive insight
  • Collect, validate, analyze, and interpret competitive insights derived from product documentation, social media feeds, practical product evaluation, and other public sources
  • Attend competitors' user conferences as needed to collect competitive insight
  • Proactively use of competitive analysis to deliver recommendations and action plans to make use of competitive advantages that can provide new sales opportunities for Red Hat
  • Implement best practices to ensure consistent delivery of competitive content
  • Ensure all intelligence data points are properly tracked and provide real-time information with focus on data integrity and data process optimization in order to easily communicate program updates and expected timelines
  • Support enablement and training activities for sales, presales, professional services, as well as for partners


What you will bring

  • Software industry knowledge, preferably in areas of software development using a pplication services or a graduate technical, marketing, or research degree
  • Metrics-focused and detail-oriented
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects at once while working in a highly complex, fast moving, technical environment
  • Ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly
  • Solid written and verbal communications skills, and comfortable working with and presenting to all levels of an organization
  • Success in working in an influence-driven cross-functional environment
  • Proactive, motivated, with a solid work ethic, and a willingness for action
  • Proficiency in office suite tools, with advanced knowledge of spreadsheets, data analysis, and presentation creation
