Overview

We are looking for a Product Marketing Manager (PMM) is an incredibly diverse and rewarding role. You will be responsible for driving the creation and execution of marketing programs for your assigned market. This is a collaborative role with the Business Segment, and you must be able to interface effectively and establish quick credibility and confidence with Engineering, Product Management, Sales, and Marketing Communications associates.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Develop integrated marketing plans that will guide product introductions worldwide including market analysis, competitive positioning, advertising, PR, tradeshows, events, website and other key activities over the life cycle of the product
  • Collaborate with global Product Management and MarCom teams to define product positioning and messaging that communicate the value, benefits and unique selling points
  • Develop marketing and advertising plans working with segment leadership, advertising and creative to accomplish business goals
  • Serve as the subject matter expert with Marketing Communications to support the development of marketing assets such as packaging, merchandising, social media plans and website content
  • Work daily with significant attention to detail to ensure all internal and external product communication is accurate and consistent (including garmin.com, ads, press releases, and packaging)
  • Work with product management and engineering to help define customer/business requirements early in the product concept stage with specific attention to the marketability of each feature
  • Coordinate with the cross-functional teams of Product Management, Engineering, Marketing Communications, IT and other departments for successful and timely launch of consumer products
  • Disseminate, communicate and present product information such as product messages, value propositions, and positioning (product introduction guides) to various stakeholders (sales, marketing communications, distributors, channel partners, and product support)
  • Identify and support new areas of market opportunity (multi-product solutions, channel expansion)
  • Manage product level marketing activities including customer and sales events, tradeshows and conferences
  • Attend industry tradeshows, customer meetings and other events as required

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university
  • Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
  • Demonstrates a strong passion for Garmin, including its mission, products, values and success
  • Demonstrates proficiency and strong aptitude for consumer electronics devices
  • Demonstrates proficient Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Possesses experience and demonstrates a consistent track record in effectively leading and driving cross-functional teams to successful product launches with measurable results
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
  • Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems
  • Demonstrates effective presentation skills
  • Demonstrates effective leadership and team building skills
  • Ability to travel up to 20%

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, business or engineering
  • Master of Business Administration Degree
  • Experience working in an applicable industry
  • Minimum 5 years progressive marketing experience
  • Experience in working with other global companies and demonstrates understanding of global marketing techniques
