About the job

This position is needed to drive internal communications for top priority corporate programs and special projects, such as Twilio’s COVID-19 response, crisis communications, our strategy and planning process, and the scaling of our company’s systems and processes. As part of Twilio’s highly-collaborative and regarded Internal Communications team, the person in this role will have an incredible opportunity to partner with senior leaders and have a true impact on one of tech’s hottest hyper growth companies.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Lead the planning, messaging, and execution of our company’s COVID-19 and return to office communications
  • Develop plans and messaging for various corporate programs and announcements, such as company-wide adoption of new systems and processes; organizational changes; and crises 
  • Draft sophisticated, thoughtful C-level executive communications, i.e. emails, video scripts, and presentations
  • Assist with company all hands events, including content development and deck production 
  • Assist with documenting key protocols and playbooks for our team to standardize our execution methods

Required:

  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills, including high-quality, thoughtful executive communications; strategic messaging for business-critical issues; the ability to take highly complex concepts and boil them down to something simple and practical. 
  • High strategic and planning acumen. Be able to quickly surmise the audience, intended outcomes, and path to get there. 
  • Results and metrics oriented. Think in terms of measurable results and support the team leader with tracking and reporting them. 
  • Effective stakeholder management. The ability to be persuasive, collaborative, and accommodating -- yet firm -- with all partners, including C-suite execs. 
  • Ability to roll with the punches and stay grounded in a highly fluid environment where plans can change daily
  • Outstanding leadership skills. Taking the initiative, making hard decisions, and being accountable.
  • 8+ years of internal and/or executive communications experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing, or otherwise writing-intensive field

Desired:

  • Experience with leading COVID-19 response communications 
  • Strong executive communications experience and proven track record with high-quality ghost writing

Location 

This role will be based in our San Francisco or Denver offices, or remote in the Pacific or Mountain timezones.

Approximately 3-4 trips to San Francisco headquarters are anticipated per/year.

Colorado applicants: 

  • The estimated pay range for this role, based in Colorado, is $105,728 - $151,040.
  • Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Twilio's equity plan.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state. This role is also eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.
