We leverage mass media, sponsorship, social, public relations, and content channels to tell our unique brand story.Your Role:We are looking for a passionate marketer with a track record of delivering breakthrough results, who has the unique ability to support insight-driven mass media campaigns. If you’re a persuasive, analytically rigorous, highly collaborative contributor that is adept at bringing ideas to life in creative ways you may be the perfect match for our Principal Associate, National Marketing position located in McLean, VA, Wilmington, DE, or Richmond, VA. This high-profile role will develop customer-centric brand value propositions & marketing strategies to enable the delivery of integrated campaigns across our marketing department to help bring Banking Reimagined to the masses. The ideal candidate will be able to partner with multiple stakeholder groups including Brand Advertising, Brand Media, Enterprise Social, Corporate Communications/Public Relations, Local Marketing, Performance Marketing, Research/Insights, and Marketing Analytics to deliver high-impact marketing strategies that establish Capital One as a new and different bank, one that is looking out for customers and their money. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the research, ideation, and collaboration to deliver integrated, multi-channel, marketing campaigns to drive account growth and brand affinity
- Synthesize research insights, marketing trends, competitive landscape, and macro external factors to identify new strategic recommendations to improve marketing and business results and Brand impact
- Partner with cross-functional teams including brand, business, creative, channel/performance marketing, product marketing, legal, operations, and corporate communication partners to collaborate and drive compelling messaging strategies and channel plans that establish Capital One as a powerful challenger bank brand
- Gather & champion insights of our consumer to influence core partners & spark new ideas
- Brainstorm disruptive marketing strategies and tactics to reinforce Capital One’s unique value proposition
- Rigorously test and evaluate ideas within a balanced way driving both business results and compelling consumer value
- Look for new ways to connect our customer journey to better deliver and bring to life our brand story and core value propositions
- Author sound campaign and creative briefs, test documents, test plans and strategies, to guide breakthrough work rooted in consumer insights and drive continued performance and optimization against KPIs across channels
- Translate and communicate business intent in a directive manner that partner teams can act on
- Define market research and customer intelligence projects with internal teams and external vendors to harvest insights and inform campaigns
- Champion and adhere to risk management processes and policies
A great candidate is:
- Experienced working in multiple stages of mass media and advertising campaign development - research, briefing, creative reviews, measurement, etc.
- Effective when working with many stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- Confident presenting formal recommendations to senior decision makers
- Excited by the challenge of influencing & collaborating with various partners of all levels to deliver results
- Someone who thrives when navigating ambiguity and working autonomously
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or military experience
- At least 4 years of multi-channel marketing experience on client or agency side
- At least 4 years of experience creating and delivering integrated marketing campaigns across traditional broadcast channels and digital platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 6 years of experience in Marketing related roles
- Proven track record coordinating with agencies and delivering results-driving marketing
- Experience working in a heavily regulated industry that requires adherence to and understanding of risk management processes
- Experience working in Agile or knowledge of Agile practices
